Automatic Testing of Natural User Interfaces
2014 IEEE Seventh International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation, 2014Automated test generation can effectively explore programs through their programmer interfaces and traditional graphical user interfaces, but the recent advent of natural user interfaces (NUI) based on motion and gesture detection, for example the Microsoft Kinect, has outrun software testing research.

Multilanguage natural user interface to database
2016 IEEE 10th International Conference on Application of Information and Communication Technologies (AICT), 2016Nowadays most of people of developed economy countries interact with software every day. As a result of computer systems expansion to all scope of people's activity the problem of transition from visual and command interfaces to natural language user interfaces is thrown into the sharp relief.

Natural user interface for interactive television
2013 IEEE International Symposium on Consumer Electronics (ISCE), 2013In this paper, we try to develop a natural user interface for interactive TV, which is more natural and easy to use with a webcam and the fingers of user. We analyze the images captured by the camera settled on the screen and track any fingers of the users. After the fingers were tracked, users can control the TV by the gestures.

The future of natural user interfaces
CHI '11 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2011This SIG is a forum to advance an integrated approach to multi-modal Natural User Interfaces. Up until now the research and design of NUI interfaces for various modalities (speech, touch, gesture) has proceeded independently. We propose having an integrated discussion with both academics and practitioners to stimulate the exchange of knowledge about ...

Natural user interface hardware
2013 IEEE Symposium on 3D User Interfaces (3DUI), 2013Summary form only given. One-year olds can use touch screens-youtube has proof of that. But why-what makes certain interactive devices so “natural” that any child can just pick them up and use them? The key seems to be user interface hardware that only allows for the one thing even 1-year olds can do-point.

Mobile accessibility: natural user interface for motion-impaired users
Universal Access in the Information Society, 2017We designed a natural user interface to access mobile devices for motion-impaired people who cannot use the standard multi-touch input system to work with tablets and smartphones. We detect the head motion of the user by means of the frontal camera and use its position to interact with the mobile device.

Bridging Natural Language and Graphical User Interfaces
2021“Language as symbolic action” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Burke) has a natural connection with direct-manipulation interaction (e.g., via GUI or physical appliances) that is common for modern computers such as smartphones. In this chapter, we present our efforts for bridging the gap between natural language and graphical user interfaces ...

Natural User Interface for Information Retrieval
2013The Natural User Interface (NUI) offers a great potential to create new paradigms of interaction and it also create new challenges about how we interact with the content. We believe that novel applications oriented to academy or research with scientific data can be developed with this paradigm.
