NATURAL ZEOLITES IN AIR DRYING

Drying Technology, 1992
ABSTRACT The local clinoptilolite from Bigadis region in Turkiye, was used for air drying in packed column. The effective diffusion coefficient of water in natural zeolite was found as 5×10−10 m2 s−1 from isothermal uptake measurements. Effects of packing height and airvelocity on breakthrough curves were studied.

Natural Zeolites in Energy Applications

Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental Effects, 2006
Natural zeolites have been used in a wide variety of applications over the world. Among these, its utilization for carrying energy in energy conversation and heat exchanging systems is noteworthy. The main objective of the present study is to investigate potential and utilization opportunities of natural zeolites in energy-related applications. In this

Natural zeolites

Natural Resources Forum, 1989
Zeolites, a suite of porous, fine‐grained minerals commonly found in certain near‐surface, sedimentary rocks, have special physical and chemical properties that could make them valuable to farmers in developing countries. Zeolites have been used to improve soil fertility; develop slow‐release fertilizers; improve animal waste disposal; and improve ...

Natural Zeolites for Seawater Desalination

2021
Freshwater shortage is one of the major challenges confronting the world today mainly due to climate change, population growth and urbanisation. Seawater desalination appears to be an attractive means for freshwater production. Utilisation of natural zeolites in seawater desalination is currently one of the understudied pathways probably due to other ...

Geology of natural zeolites and zeolitic rocks

Pure and Applied Chemistry, 1980
Present status, particularly development in the latest decade, of the geology of natural zeolites and zeolitic rocks has been overviewed. Emphases are focused on the classification of genetical occurrences and the synthesis deduced from the nature..

Geochemical Stability of Natural Zeolites

Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry, 2001
Zeolites are used in numerous agricultural, commercial, and environmental applications (e.g. as soil conditioners and fertilizers, and as adsorbents for ammonia, heavy metals, nuclear and organic wastes). It is important to understand their stability to insure their persistence and effectiveness in these applications.

Natural zeolites for styrene oligomerization

Clay Minerals, 2011
AbstractHydrogen forms of natural mordenite and clinoptilolite were used as catalysts for styrene oligomerization and as matrices to hold the resultant oligomers in order to prepare intense and light-resistant pigments. In contrast to synthetic zeolites of similar pore sizes (mainly H-ZSM-5, H-mordenite), the natural zeolites did not form products with

MnS clusters in natural zeolites

Materials Science and Engineering: B, 2003
Abstract FTIR, ESR, optical absorption, photoconductivity, and luminescence measurements are used to evidence the nature of MnS clusters, synthesized by treating the Mn 2+ forms of natural zeolites with Na 2 S.

Natural zeolites and environment

2007
This chapter discusses the main environmental applications of natural zeolites, essentially in pollution control, agriculture and aquaculture, and building industry, sectors, in which these materials are with good reasons better endowed than the synthetic materials.
