NATURAL ZEOLITES IN AIR DRYING

Drying Technology, 1992
ABSTRACT The local clinoptilolite from Bigadis region in Turkiye, was used for air drying in packed column. The effective diffusion coefficient of water in natural zeolite was found as 5×10−10 m2 s−1 from isothermal uptake measurements. Effects of packing height and airvelocity on breakthrough curves were studied.

Natural Zeolites in Energy Applications

Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental Effects, 2006
Natural zeolites have been used in a wide variety of applications over the world. Among these, its utilization for carrying energy in energy conversation and heat exchanging systems is noteworthy. The main objective of the present study is to investigate potential and utilization opportunities of natural zeolites in energy-related applications. In this

Natural zeolites

Natural Resources Forum, 1989
Zeolites, a suite of porous, fine‐grained minerals commonly found in certain near‐surface, sedimentary rocks, have special physical and chemical properties that could make them valuable to farmers in developing countries. Zeolites have been used to improve soil fertility; develop slow‐release fertilizers; improve animal waste disposal; and improve ...

Prospect of Sukabumi natural zeolite for petrochemical industry: Preparation and characterization of natural zeolite

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2021
Most of process industries, including chemical, petrochemical and oleochemical needed catalysts for processing. Catalyst has an important role to accelerate the reaction process of final product. Zeolite can also have an active role in the conversion of raw material as catalysts providing the required selectivity towards base chemicals.

Geology of natural zeolites and zeolitic rocks

Pure and Applied Chemistry, 1980
Present status, particularly development in the latest decade, of the geology of natural zeolites and zeolitic rocks has been overviewed. Emphases are focused on the classification of genetical occurrences and the synthesis deduced from the nature..

The Reconstruction of Natural Zeolites

2003
"The Reconstruction of Natural Zeolites" summarizes the known properties of natural zeolites and, importantly, shows how they can be synthesized by simulating the conditions of natural formation. Systematically, a direct correlation between the glassy precursor composition and that of the zeolite product is established.

Use of natural zeolites as a landfill liner

Waste Management & Research: The Journal for a Sustainable Circular Economy, 2003
The purpose of this study is to investigate certain features of a novel material proposed to serve as an impervious liner in landfills. Various ratios of bentonites and zeolites (B/Z) compacted at optimum water content were tested to determine the strength parameters, permeability, pH, heavy metals and other properties. A B/Z ratio of 0.10 was found to

Natural zeolites in diet or litter of broilers

British Poultry Science, 2016
This study aims to analyse the influence of adding natural zeolites (clinoptilolite) to the diet or litter of broilers and their effects on growth performance, carcass yield and litter quality. Three consecutive flocks of broilers were raised on the same sawdust litter, from d 1 to d 42 of age, and distributed in three treatments (control with no added

The nature of ‘overexchanged’ copper and platinum on zeolites

Nanotechnology, 2005
The uptake of platinum and copper tetra-ammine (PTA and CTA, [(NH(3))(4)Pt](2+) and [(NH(3))(4)Cu](2+)) into zeolites was compared over silica and three zeolites (Y, MOR and MFI) with different points of zero charge and aluminium content. Adsorption was determined as a function of pH at several metal concentrations, and pH shifts relative to metal free
