Direct Mode‐Resolved Measurement of Interfacial Phonon Transport by Acoustic Phonon Reflectometry
We introduce a novel analysis, acoustic phonon reflectometry, that measures the mode‐resolved phonon reflection coefficient at semiconductor interfaces. In aluminum nitride, we observe excellent agreement with the acoustic mismatch model across three distinct interfaces.

Broadband Directional Thermal Radiation with Asymmetric Femtosecond Laser‐Processed Surfaces
Femtosecond laser processing is used to scalably create self‐organized angled microstructures which exhibit highly directional emissivity that occurs for all polarizations. Laser parameters are tuned to alter the surface features, control the direction of emission, and enhance the directional emissivity. Electromagnetic modeling is performed to analyze

The Role and Work of Bomber Command: A Note by Air Marshal Sir Arthur Harris for the Prime Minister and Cabinet, 28 June 1942 [PDF]
Editor’s Note: Few senior Allied Commanders have been criticized as strongly as Air Marshal Sir Arthur Harris. And even those critics who recognize the vital contribution Harris and the Bomber Command made to the defeat of Nazi Germany are disturbed by ...

A naval history of interwar naval arms control
The attempt by the major powers between 1918 and 1939 to negotiate naval limitation was an unparalleled experiment in the management of global military power and a significant feature of the interwar diplomatic landscape. Naval arms control dominated the naval policies, strategies, and programmes of the major naval powers and, by controlling the types,

Numerical Modeling of Photothermal Self‐Excited Composite Oscillators
We present a numerical framework for simulating photothermal self‐excited oscillations. The driving mechanism is elucidated by highlighting the roles of inertia and overshoot, as well as the phase lag between the thermal moment and the oscillation angle, which together construct the feedback loop between the system state and the environmental stimulus.

RETREG1‐Mediated Reticulophagy is Essential for Dendritic Cell Maturation and Function in Sepsis
Reticulophagy regulator 1 (RETREG1) maintains dendritic cell (DC) maturation and function in early sepsis. Mechanistically, activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) acts as a direct transcription factor regulating RETREG1 expression in response to sepsis‐induced endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress.
