Influence of Field Strength, Sex, and Age on Pseudo‐Continuous Arterial Spin Labeling and T1 Mapping in the Kidney

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 62, Issue 4, Page 1180-1195, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Pseudo‐continuous arterial spin labeling (PCASL) and T 1 mapping have been used for renal imaging at 1.5 T and 3 T. However, direct comparisons between field strengths, age, and sex are lacking. Purpose To assess the effects of field strength, age, and sex on renal perfusion and T 1 values and measure reproducibility.

Nutrients on the move: Investigating large scale fatty acid exports from European ponds via emerging insects

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 70, Issue 10, Page 2844-2857, October 2025.
Abstract Permanent ponds are key landscape units that supply various ecosystem services. Notably, the export of aquatic subsidies to land via emerging insects may significantly influence terrestrial food webs. Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), which enhance consumer fitness, are among the essential exported components.

Phosphorylation of Staphylococcus aureus β‐lactamase, a prerequisite to its sequestration on the cytoplasmic membrane

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 34, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract Approximately 50% of the class A Staphylococcus aureus β‐lactamase (BlaZ) is secreted to the milieu as a resistance vanguard against β‐lactam antibiotics. We disclose that the remaining 50% of the β‐lactamase is sequestered on the surface of the cytoplasmic membrane in a process that involves its lipidation and phosphorylation, with lipidation
