Astrocytes as Metabolic Sensors Orchestrating Energy‐Driven Brain Vulnerability in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 169, Issue 10, October 2025.
Alzheimer's disease unfolds within a paradoxical metabolic milieu, where rising cellular energy demands contrast with declining systemic expenditure. Astrocytes, strategically located at the neurovascular interface, act as metabolic sentinels that dynamically reprogram their glycolytic and oxidative pathways in response to aging and peripheral ...

Noninvasive assessment of corticosterone and triiodothyronine levels in the endangered Pyrenean Capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus aquitanicus)

open access: yesJournal of Zoology, Volume 327, Issue 2, Page 183-195, October 2025.
Feathers are useful in the study of glucocorticoid and thyroid hormones in Pyrenean Capercaillies. Samples from the Northern Pyrenees and Pre‐Pyrenees contained lower corticosterone concentrations, and a negative correlation was found between corticosterone levels and the distance from cycling trails.

Using the institutional grammar to understand collective resource management in a heterogenous cooperative facing external shocks

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, Volume 19, Issue 4, Page 979-993, October 2025.
Abstract Worker cooperatives in the gig economy can involve large and heterogeneous memberships, which makes them vulnerable to member opportunism depleting collective resources. External shocks may present another challenge for collective resource management.
