Neural Topological SLAM for Visual Navigation [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2020
This paper studies the problem of image-goal navigation which involves navigating to the location indicated by a goal image in a novel previously unseen environment. To tackle this problem, we design topological representations for space that effectively

Socially CompliAnt Navigation Dataset (SCAND): A Large-Scale Dataset Of Demonstrations For Social Navigation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, 2022
Social navigation is the capability of an autonomous agent, such as a robot, to navigate in a “socially compliant” manner in the presence of other intelligent agents such as humans.

Target-driven visual navigation in indoor scenes using deep reinforcement learning [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2016
Two less addressed issues of deep reinforcement learning are (1) lack of generalization capability to new goals, and (2) data inefficiency, i.e., the model requires several (and often costly) episodes of trial and error to converge, which makes it ...
