Objective We aimed to test the efficacy of personalized treatment of older veterans with chronic low back pain (CLBP) delivered by Aging Back Clinics (ABCs) as compared with usual care (UC). Methods Two hundred ninety‐nine veterans aged 65 to 89 with CLBP from three Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers underwent baseline testing, randomization to ABC ...

Evaluation methodology for safety maturity in air navigation safety
Abstract Safety Maturity for Air Navigation Safety indicates the extent to which the Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) and regulators have identified the implementation of processes necessary to take safety measures for the Navigational Aids (NAVAID) and to reduce risk. If there is an unstable element or defect in the operation and management of

Integrated Navigation System: Not a Sum of Its Parts [PDF]
Similar to the evolutionary process for living organisms, marine navigation systems are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated. Both by design and function, shipboard and shore-based navigation systems are no longer individual equipment ...

Upper-bounding bias errors in satellite navigation
A satellite navigation system for a safety critical application is required to provide an integrity alert of any malfunction; the probability that a navigation positioning error exceeds a given alert limit without an integrity alert is required to be ...

Background Clinical response to Mycophenolic acid (MPA) is highly heterogeneous; thus, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) may help improve treatment efficacy. This systematic review and meta‐analysis examined therapeutic ranges for MPA levels associated with better outcomes and safety in patients with SLE, particularly those with extra‐renal ...

Navigation with Probabilistic Safety Constraints: A Convex Formulation
We consider the problem of navigation with safety constraints. The safety constraints are probabilistic, where a given set is assigned a degree of safety, a number between zero and one, with zero being safe and one being unsafe. The deterministic unsafe set will arise as a particular case of the proposed probabilistic description of safety.

Hydrographic Products/Services as a Fundamental Component of the e-Navigation Concept of Operation [PDF]
e-Navigation is a recent initiative aimed at moving traditional maritime navigation towards a connected digital environment. Defined by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as “the harmonized collection, integration, exchange, presentation and ...

Provably Safe Robot Navigation with Obstacle Uncertainty
As drones and autonomous cars become more widespread it is becoming increasingly important that robots can operate safely under realistic conditions. The noisy information fed into real systems means that robots must use estimates of the environment to ...

A combinatorial library of dual‐functional antiviral oligomers incorporating N‐halamine and quaternary ammonium functionalities is developed for long‐lasting antiviral activity. The lead materials exhibit rapid and durable antiviral activity against SARS‐CoV‐2 variants and influenza H1N1, with 4 to 5 log reduction in viral copies at 5 mg mL−1 ...
