The Merging Algorithm of Radar Simulation Data in Navigational Simulator

Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2014
In this paper, a method used to generate continuous and complete radar simulation data was described. This new method based on previous radar simulation data, which extracted from different scales S-57 standard electronic navigation charts in navigational simulator. In this work, the clipping buffer in per radar simulation data was set and the boundary

New Design of Intelligent Navigational Simulator

open access: yesApplied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
This paper puts forward a new design of intelligent navigational simulator due to the fact that the target ships in the current existing navigational simulator at home and aboard which does not have the capacity to automatically give way to other ships ...

Evaluation of ROS Navigation Stack for Social Navigation in Simulated Environments

Journal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems, 2021
Accuracy and safety are necessary characteristics in social navigation. These characteristics still constitute a challenge in this area. Yet, human comfort is the main goal in interactions involving human beings. The ROS Navigation Stack (RNS) allows the variation of local path planning methods.

Adapting a Pedestrian Navigation Simulator to the Elderly

Proceedings of the European Conference on Cognitive Ergonomics, 2016
Virtual environments are nowadays broadly used in scientific research about spatial navigation. To ensure the validity of the navigation experiment as well as the safety of the participants, human factors should be taken into account while designing the device.

Blindness Visualizer: A Simulated Navigation Experience

2020 IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces Abstracts and Workshops (VRW), 2020
Exploration of the challenges faced by individuals who are non sighted or visually impaired has primarily been limited to physical methods such as blindfolds and controlled environments. Using virtual reality, we provide a simulation of blind navigation using a shader effect with scattered light.

Simulating pigeon navigation

Animal Behaviour, 2005
We present a computer model of avian navigation (homing) based on Kramer's ‘Map and Compass’ model. The key assumptions are: (1) the navigation environment contains two intersecting gradients, (2) the birds possess senses to measure these gradients, a compass sense, and an internal representation of the gradients, the navigational ‘map’.

Navigated Simulator for Spinal Needle Interventions

2014
We present a navigated simulator for ultrasound-guided spine needle interventions, comprising of an ultrasound scanner, tracking system, surgical instruments, tissue-mimicking spine phantom, and augmented virtuality navigation platform. The ultrasound transducer, spine needle, and spine phantom are magnetically tracked and spatially calibrated ...

Navigation Training Simulators

Navigation, 1972
Honeywell is currently designing and manufacturing the Undergraduate Navigator Training System (UNTS) for the U.S. Air Force Aeronautical Systems Division and the Air Training Command. This paper describes the design and human factors philosophy of the UNTS, an all-digital trainer that simulates a complete array of air navigation instruments ...

Using a Traffic Simulator for Navigation Service

Proceedings of the 25th ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2017
Traffic congestion is a serious problem that is only expected to get worse in the future. Statistics shows that half of traffic congestion is caused by temporary disruptions like accidents. These events have dramatic impact on road network availability and cause huge delays for commuters.
