Gastric Foveolar‐Type Hyperplastic Polyp of the Duodenum With GNAS and KRAS Mutations: A Potential Precursor to Neoplasia

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT We report a gastric foveolar‐type hyperplastic polyp of the duodenum harboring mutations in the GNAS and KRAS genes. The lesion was incidentally detected during a routine upper gastrointestinal endoscopy in a man in his 50s. It appeared as a 10‐mm elevated lesion located at the superior duodenal angle.

A novel integrated platform for the identification of surgical margins in oral squamous cell carcinoma: results from a prospective single-institution series

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2019
Background The optimal surgical margins assessment is capital in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) management. We evaluated the clinical benefits of integrating intraoperative macroscopic margin (MM) assessment and narrow band imaging (NBI).

Efficacy and Safety of Gel Immersion Endoscopic Mucosal Resection for Gastric Neoplasms in Patients With Familial Adenomatous Polyposis: A Multicenter Retrospective Study

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Approximately 10%–30% patients with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) develop gastric neoplasms (GNs). Although recent reports have suggested the effectiveness of gel‐immersion endoscopic mucosal resection (GI‐EMR) for FAP‐associated GNs, given its simplicity and safety, treatment outcomes for such lesions have not been evaluated.

Clinicopathological Characteristics With the Status of Mismatch Repair Deficient Invasive Colorectal Cancer With Spontaneous Regression

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Spontaneous regression of endoscopically invasive colorectal cancer (CRC) after biopsy has been rarely reported. We report three cases of endoscopically invasive CRC with spontaneous regression after biopsy and a review of the literature regarding spontaneous regression of CRC with somatic mismatch repair deficiency (MMR‐d).

Diagnostic Performance of Magnifying Endoscopy With Crystal Violet Staining for Superficial Non‐ampullary Duodenal Epithelial Tumors: A Single‐center Prospective Study

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives We previously reported a potential diagnostic algorithm for superficial non‐ampullary duodenal epithelial tumors (SNADETs) using white‐light magnifying endoscopy with crystal violet staining (ME‐CV). This study aimed to determine the diagnostic performance of the scheme and compare it with the conventional white‐light endoscopy (WLE)

Narrow-band imaging cystoscopy in non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer: a prospective comparison to the standard approach

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Urology, 2012
Objectives: A single-centre, prospective trial was performed aiming to assess the impact of narrow-band imaging (NBI) cystoscopy in cases of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) in comparison to standard white light cystoscopy (WLC).

Urban skylines from Schelling model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We propose a metapopulation version of the Schelling model where two kinds of agents relocate themselves, with unconstrained destination, if their local fitness is lower than a tolerance threshold.

Bridge type classification: supervised learning on a modified NBI dataset

open access: yes, 2017
A key phase in the bridge design process is the selection of the structural system. Due to budget and time constraints, engineers typically rely on engineering judgment and prior experience when selecting a structural system, often considering a limited ...

Polyp Segmentation in NBI Colonoscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Endoscopic screening of the colon (colonoscopy) is performed to prevent cancer and to support therapy. During intervention colon polyps are located, inspected and, if need be, removed by the investigator. We propose a segmentation algorithm as a part of an automatic polyp classification system for colonoscopic Narrow-Band images.

Estimate of 3D power wall loads due to Neutral Beam Injection in EU DEMO ramp-up phase

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2019
Heating and current drive systems such as high energy Neutral Beam Injection (NBI) are being considered for pulsed EU DEMO (“DEMO1”) pre-conceptual design.
