Bee community and trait‐based responses to fire in a Mediterranean landscape
Fire drives a short‐term increase in bee abundance and diversity, despite its strong negative impact on floral resources. Acting as an environmental filter, fire shapes bee communities as increased post‐fire fine‐scale heterogeneity favors bees with specific functional traits such as ground‐nesting and generalist species.

Local Cyber-physical Attack with Leveraging Detection in Smart Grid
A well-designed attack in the power system can cause an initial failure and then results in large-scale cascade failure. Several works have discussed power system attack through false data injection, line-maintaining attack, and line-removing attack ...

Influence of acrylonitrile (ACN) content on the processing behavior and morphological development of PA/NBR thermoplastic vulcanizates. Torque‐time profiles, SEM, and SEM/AFM images show that an intermediate ACN level (38%) promotes improved phase dispersion and morphological uniformity, especially with increased processing time, resulting in the most ...

Ethephon Promotes Sprouting and Increases Vigor in Yam Seed‐Tubers
The yam (Dioscorea alata L.) is of social and economic relevance for small farmers in Northeast Brazil, but its cultivation is hindered by the low quality of propagative material and a long dormancy period exceeding 90 days. This study evaluated the effect of Ethephon doses and different tuber segments of the São Tomé variety on sprouting and seedling ...

A band spectrum attributed to NBr [PDF]
In the course of an investigation on the spectra of the halogens and other substances excited by active nitrogen, Strutt and Fowler (1912) observed that, when bromine was admitted into the glowing nitrogen, a feeble orange luminosity was developed. Visual observation with a spectroscope revealed eight narrow bands in the orange region of the spectrum ...

ZERO INFLATED NEGATIVE BINOMIAL MODELS IN SMALL AREA ESTIMATION [PDF]
The problem of over-dispersion in Poisson data is usually solved by introducing prior distributions which lead to negative binomial models. Poisson data sometime is also suffered by excess zero problems, a condition when data contains too many zero or ...

ABSTRACT Butylparaben (BuP) recurrently contaminates soils worldwide, mainly by incorporating sewage sludge into cultivated areas, using wastewater in irrigation, and leaching contaminated soils. However, there are few studies on the ecotoxicological effects of this paraben on edaphic organisms.
