Nursing Perspectives on Factors That Influence Provision of Patient‐Centered Care for Autistic Patients in a Large Urban Hospital System: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Nursing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To characterise nurses' perspectives on factors that influence their ability to provide patient‐centered nursing care for autistic patients in a large urban hospital setting. Design Qualitative exploratory study. Methods We conducted semi‐structured interviews via Zoom with nurses from a large urban hospital serving primarily adult ...

Gestational kynurenine metabolites mediate effects of pregnancy adiposity on child negative affect

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, EarlyView.
Background Mounting evidence links increased adiposity during pregnancy and offspring risk for mental health disorders. Yet the mechanisms underlying this association remain poorly understood, limiting our ability to design effective interventions.

Backstory on the NCATS and AZ/MRC structures paper

open access: yes, 2012
Updates, 11 Jan 2013, a) an orthogonal backstory from one of my esteemed co-authors  b) I am pleased to be involved in the planning of a repurposing workshop at BioIT 2013, April, in Boston. One of the benefits of blogging is to be able to add extra bits of context to your own papers,  in this case  "Challenges and ...

scRNA‐Seq reveals anti‐lymphoma immune responses in mogamulizumab‐associated skin eruptions

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
CCR4 was expressed in malignant clones and regulatory T cells in untreated CTCL, that were decreased in MAR. Malignant clones in MAR showed a silenced phenotype with decreases in central memory markers SELL and CCR7, and GTP‐binding member GIMAP7 and upregulation of MMP2 inhibitor TIMP2 and tumour suppressor gene RUNX3.

The Effect of an Early Cognitive Intervention on Global Cognition in Older Hospitalized Adults With Delirium

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Delirium afflicts 17% of older emergency department (ED) patients and 25% of older hospitalized patients. This form of acute brain failure is associated with accelerated cognitive decline. We conducted a randomized controlled trial to determine whether early cognitive intervention improved 4‐month global cognition in older ED ...

MRC 22 vs. NCATS 58 repurposing lists: similar but different

open access: yes, 2012
Update, December, we have a paper out on the results. The collaboration between the MRC and AstraZeneca to give UK academic researchers access to development compounds has been acknowledged as a precedent for the compilation of the analogous NCATS 58-set from multiple companies.  A snapshot of the MRC list of 22 is shown below.

Quantitative Diffusion and T2 Mapping Using RF‐Modulated Phase‐Based Gradient Echo Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 49-65, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To introduce and evaluate the feasibility of a novel RF‐phase modulated gradient echo (GRE) method for quantitative diffusion MRI, aimed at mitigating geometric distortion and enabling high‐resolution 3D quantitative diffusion/T2 mapping as a complementary alternative to conventional DWI.

A Homogeneously Catalyzed Paired Electrolytic Cell for Hydrogen Peroxide Production

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 19, 4 May 2026.
Cu(tmpa) and Sn‐TMPyP are compatible and efficient catalysts for 2e−‐ORR and 2e−‐WOR, respectively, which have been employed to assemble an efficient paired electrochemical cell for H2O2 production. The presence of a carbonate buffer is essential to achieve a high activity in the anode compartment, while control over mass transport is essential for a ...
