Optimized Detection of Left Ventricular Hyperpolarized [1‐13C]Pyruvate Signal in Human Cardiac Metabolic Imaging

ABSTRACT Purpose This study aimed to improve the analysis of the left ventricular (LV) blood pool hyperpolarized [1‐13C]pyruvate signal for a more reliable quantification of downstream metabolic outcome. Methods Hyperpolarized [1‐13C]pyruvate magnetic resonance spectroscopic images were acquired dynamically at 3 Tesla in 106 participants (NCT03685175).

Characterizing Secondary Velopharyngeal Surgery in Children With Cleft Palate at an Academic Center

In this retrospective study of children undergoing primary palatoplasty at a single academic institution, 10.8% required secondary surgery for velopharyngeal insufficiency. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that private insurance was associated with decreased odds of secondary surgery, while Asian race was associated with increased odds.
