Determining the impact of pulse-type earthquake characteristics on the vulnerability of base-isolated buildings under non-pounding conditions has yielded conflicting results in previous studies. Moreover, this issue has received less attention for pounding conditions, especially floor-to-floor pounding.

Hafnium zirconium oxide thin films are grown using plasma‐enhanced atomic layer deposition with the addition of an atomic layer annealing (ALA) step. ALA leads to a change in the short‐range structure of the deposit and encourages formation of the ferroelectric Pca21 phase. The result is wake‐up‐free performance with films exposed to ALA.

Seismic Response Analysis of a Curved Bridge under Near-Fault and Far-Field Ground Motions
To study the influence of near-fault and far-field (FF) ground motions on a curved girder bridge, a 1:10 scale curved bridge shaking table test model was constructed. Three types of ground motions, namely, near-fault pulse (NP), near-fault non-pulse (NN),

Study on the disaster mechanism of near-fault pulse-like ground motion of M8.0 Wenchuan earthquake
Abstract With the improvement of observation quality, more and more near-fault strong earthquake records have been obtained. Through the analysis of near-fault strong ground motion records of Wenchuan earthquake, the collection and field investigation of seismogenic structural data, as well as the collection and field investigation of ...

Dynamic Buckling Analysis of Wind Turbine Tower Under Near‐Fault and Far‐Fault Ground Motions
The wind turbine tower, a typical thin‐walled structure, is susceptible to buckling under dynamic loads, particularly during seismic events. The dynamic buckling behavior of wind turbine towers under near‐fault and far‐fault ground motions is ...

Covalent Functionalization of 2D Semiconductors: A Roadmap to Advanced Electronic Devices
This Review presents recent advances in the covalent functionalization strategies for two‐dimensional semiconductors and their implementation in modern technologies. Layered materials are modified through diverse molecular chemistries (e.g., thiols, diazonium salts, alkyl halides, and electron‐deficient species) to tailor their surface properties ...
