Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Virtual Extremely Large Antenna Arrays: Emulating Near-Field Wideband Beamforming in Dense Cell-Free Networks

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Cell-free (CF) massive MIMO (m-MIMO) architectures operating under Rician fading conditions are investigated, with a focus on position-aware signal processing and Bayesian channel estimation. By treating distributed access points (APs) as components of a

Multiple regression modeling of natural rubber seismic-isolation systems with supplemental viscous damping for near-field ground motion

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2013
This work presents the development and implementation of the Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) model to Seismic-Isolation (SI) systems consisting of Natural Rubber Bearings and Viscous Fluid Dampers subject to Near-Field (NF) earthquake ground motion. A

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Channel Knowledge Map Assisted Channel Estimation for an Extremely Large Antenna Array System

open access: yesIEEE Access
Sixth generation communication systems are expected to utilize extremely large antenna arrays (ELAAs) to significantly enhance the spectral efficiency by compensating for path loss at high operating frequencies.

Plasmonic Near-Field Enhancement for Planar Ultra-Thin Photovoltaics

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2013
We propose a planar ultrathin absorber concept exploiting plasmonic resonance absorption enhancement. We calculate a maximum absorption of 89.8% for TM-polarized normally incident light in a 5-nm thin-film absorber with a single-pass absorption of only 1.

Near-field THz micropolarimetry

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
We introduce a method for rapid determination of anisotropic terahertz absorption with sub micron resolution and high spectral integrity in the terahertz range. The method is ideal for microscopic and environmentally sensitive materials such as 2-D materials and protein crystals where the anisotropic absorption is critical to understanding underlying ...

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...
