Synthesis of Core–Shell Te@Se Quantum Dots and Their Broadband Photodetector Performance in Low Concentration Electrolytes

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Te@Se core–shell heterojunction quantum dots (QDs) are synthesized by a two‐step strategy via combining liquid‐phase exfoliation and epitaxial growth. As active materials in photoelectrochemical photodetectors, Te@Se QDs exhibit excellent photo‐response performance in low‐concentration electrolytes and deionized water.

Enhanced Broadband Photodetection with Geometry and Interface Engineered Nanocrystalline Graphite

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research
Photodetection across the near‐infrared (NIR) to short‐wavelength infrared (SWIR) spectrum is important for many applications. This study explores photodetection using nanocrystalline graphite (NCG) in a suspended, narrow constriction configuration for ...

Topological Photonic Devices and Circuits at Terahertz Frequencies

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This review examines how 3D topological insulators and emerging topological photonic phases enable robust, low‐loss and defect‐immune terahertz devices. Fundamental properties, device implementations and topological transport mechanisms are surveyed, revealing new opportunities for reconfigurable, high‐performance THz components and scalable ...

Multilayer WS2 for low-power visible and near-infrared phototransistors

open access: yesDiscover Nano
Mechanically exfoliated multilayer WS2 flakes are used as the channel of field effect transistors for low-power photodetection in the visible and near-infrared (NIR) spectral range. The electrical characterization as a function of the temperature reveals

Chemically‐Linked Heterostructures of Palladium Nanosheets and 2H‐MoS2

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The photoresponse of MoS2 devices is extended to the near‐infrared region (up to 1700 nm) through chemical connection to Pd nanosheets (PdNS). A maleimide is used for covalent connection to MoS2, and a phenyl bromide moiety for linkage to the PdNS. In the absence of the chemical linker, van der Waals heterostructures show poorer enhancement of the ...

Mie-mediated edge-enhanced Raman scattering of vertically-stacking ge quantum-dots/Si-SiN array for enhancing photoluminescence and photodetection

open access: yesScientific Reports
We reported vertically-stacking architecture of Si-Si3N4 embedded Ge quantum dots (QDs) array for quantum nanophotonics. Salient features of ordered, stacking Ge QDs lie in good control over the QD size, spherical-shape, and spatial location without ...

Laser‐Direct Printed 2D Material‐Based Heterostructure for the Fabrication of Electronic Devices

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The Digital Laser‐Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT) approach is employed to pattern and stack 2D materials with micrometer‐scale precision. PdSe2 and MoSe2 are assembled into vertical p–n junctions, with graphene serving as a transparent electrode. The resulting laser‐transferred heterostructures exhibit high material quality and stable rectifying ...

Colloidal Quasi‐2D Cs2AgBiBr6 Double Perovskite Nanosheets: Synthesis and Application as High‐Performance Photodetectors

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Layered quasi‐2D Cs2AgBiBr6 nanosheets, with large lateral dimensions of up to 1.4 µm, which are only a few nanometers thick, were synthesized as a result of systematic investigation of the roles of ligands and reaction temperature. The nanosheets were used to develop high‐performance photodetectors, yielding detectivity in the order of 1012 Jones with

Advances in Micro‐Transfer Printing of Lithium Niobate Thin‐Films for Silicon Photonic Devices

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 6, 27 March 2026.
ABSTRACT Silicon and silicon nitride waveguide platforms have established themselves as ideal candidates for high‐volume photonic integration, owing to their compatibility with mature semiconductor manufacturing processes. In parallel, lithium niobate has garnered significant attention for its superior electro‐optic and nonlinear properties ...

Removing Homocoupling Defects in Alkoxy/Alkyl‐PBTTT Enhances Polymer:Fullerene Co‐Crystal Formation and Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 20, 9 March 2026.
PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...
