ABSTRACT Objective Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is one of the leading causes of death and disabilities, and as such, it is of utmost importance to identify novel treatment options. Remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) is a promising non‐invasive treatment that is thought to activate the body's own protective mechanisms against damaging ischemia.

This study reveals that infections are highly prevalent in pediatric IEI patients after umbilical cord blood transplantation, with early‐stage infections and bloodstream infections strongly associated with poorer survival. These findings advocate for risk‐stratified surveillance and preemptive strategies in high‐risk subgroups.

Structure of the G protein chaperone and guanine nucleotide exchange factor Ric-8A bound to Gαi1 [PDF]
Ric-8A is a cytosolic Guanine Nucleotide exchange Factor (GEF) that activates heterotrimeric G protein alpha subunits (Gα) and serves as an essential Gα chaperone.

The nucleotide exchange factor Ric-8A is a chaperone for the conformationally dynamic nucleotide-free state of Gαi1. [PDF]
Heterotrimeric G protein α subunits are activated upon exchange of GDP for GTP at the nucleotide binding site of Gα, catalyzed by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs). In addition to transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which act on G

We report a series of Au(III) complexes incorporating asymmetric carbazolyl motifs that regulate co‐facial distance between donor and acceptor moieties. Femtosecond transient absorption and density functional theory computation analyses reveal rapid reverse internal upconversion from the lowest triplet state (T1) to a thermally accessible higher‐lying ...

A functionally driven variable‐cell size and gradient‐conductive coated TPMS structure was developed. Accordingly, stepwise longitudinal gradient impedance was realized, achieving absorption‐dominant EMI shielding (absorptivity≈0.85) with an EMI SET of ≈ 59 dB, for 10 mm‐thick composites. Further increasing the thickness of composites to 20 mm achieved

Adjunctive remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) administered twice within 24 h after intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) improved cerebral autoregulation, suggesting that RIC exerted neuroprotective effects in patients undergoing IVT. ABSTRACT Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) is the treatment with the highest level of evidence for acute ischemic stroke, but ...
