MINOS near-detector coil design [PDF]
The 980-ton MINOS near detector will be installed in the new NuMI near hall at 100m below grade at Fermilab. It will be assembled from 282 1-inch thick steel plates. The planes are made from low carbon (1006), hot rolled steel and are toroidally magnetized.

Non-unitarity, sterile neutrinos, and non-standard neutrino interactions
The simplest Standard Model extension to explain neutrino masses involves the addition of right-handed neutrinos. At some level, this extension will impact neutrino oscillation searches.

ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

Neutrino Factory Near Detector Simulation [PDF]
We present a simulation with GENIE MC generator of the Neutrino Factory baseline near detector interaction rates for the purely leptonic process νμ+e−→νe+μ− and for νμ+N→μ−+X scattering in view of measuring the first one and suppressing the second one for neutrino flux estimation.

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Millicharged particles in liquid argon neutrino experiments
We investigate the potential of Liquid Argon (LAr) neutrino detectors to search for millicharged particles, a well-motivated extension of the standard model.

Probing the ν-philic Z′ at DUNE near detectors
We consider a hidden $U(1)$ gauge symmetry under which only the right-handed neutrinos ($ν_{R}$) are charged. The corresponding gauge boson is referred to as the $ν_{R}$-philic $Z'$. Despite the absence of direct gauge couplings to ordinary matter at tree level, loop-induced couplings of the $ν_{R}$-philic $Z'$ via left-right neutrino mixing can be ...

Treatment Decision‐Making Roles and Preferences Among Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer
ABSTRACT Background Decision‐making (DM) dynamics between adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, parents, and oncologists remain underexplored in diverse populations. We examined cancer treatment DM preferences among an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse group of AYAs and their parents.

ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Heavy Neutral Leptons from low-scale seesaws at the DUNE Near Detector
Heavy nearly-sterile neutrinos are a common ingredient in extensions of the Standard Model which aim to explain neutrino masses, like for instance in Type I seesaw models, or one of its variants.
