Concomitant Hypertriglyceridemia‐Induced Pancreatitis and Diabetic Ketoacidosis in the Setting of Olanzapine Use: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
CT Abdomen and Pelvis showing features suggestive of Acute Pancreatitis secondary to Olanzapine use. ABSTRACT Acute pancreatitis is a rare but serious complication associated with antipsychotic medications, such as olanzapine. Hypertriglyceridemia‐induced pancreatitis is an uncommon, potentially life‐threatening etiology, and severe metabolic ...

Role of Endoscopic Ultrasound‐guided Gastroenterostomy for Benign Gastric Outlet Obstruction

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Benign gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) often results from intrinsic conditions like peptic strictures, caustic‐induced stricture, and surgical anastomoses, and extrinsic conditions like pancreatitis, hematoma, and superior mesenteric artery syndrome.

Endoscopic versus surgical step-up approach for infected necrotizing pancreatitis (ExTENSION): long-term follow-up of a randomized trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
BACKGROUND & AIMS: Previous randomized trials, including the Transluminal Endoscopic Step-Up Approach Versus Minimally Invasive Surgical Step-Up Approach in Patients With Infected Pancreatic Necrosis (TENSION) trial, demonstrated that the endoscopic step-

Endoscopic Step‐up Approach for Walled‐off Necrosis After Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This review outlines current interventional strategies for treating symptomatic walled‐off necrosis (WON) after necrotizing pancreatitis. Mortality from acute pancreatitis has improved, but late mortality, particularly from infected necrosis, remains a challenge. WON requires invasive treatment in cases of infection or symptoms.

New directions in diagnosis and treatment of canine acute pancreatitis

open access: yes, 2011

Severe Bacteremia Caused by Clostridium butyricum Following Endoscopic Ultrasound‐Guided Peripancreatic Fluid Drainage for Walled‐off Necrosis: A Case Report

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT We report a rare case of bacteremia caused by Clostridium butyricum following endoscopic ultrasound‐guided peripancreatic fluid drainage (EUS‐PFD) for walled‐off necrosis (WON) in a patient with alcoholic chronic pancreatitis. The patient underwent EUS‐PFD using a plastic stent (PS) for WON, initially with a good response.

Identification of the nucleotide sequence of the lipoprotein lipase gene as well as its role in the development of hyperlipidemia and pancreatitis in the Miniature Schnauzer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Lipoprotein Lipase (LPL) is a key enzyme in lipid transport. It catalyses the hydrolysis of the triacylglycerol component of chylomicrons and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL), providing non-esterified fatty acids for tissue utilization.
