The complexity of nectar: secretion and resorption dynamically regulate nectar features

Naturwissenschaften, 2007
In this paper, we review the phenomenon of nectar resorption, focusing on its physiological and ecological meaning. Nectar resorption is a phenomenon that has long been known but was rarely reported until the 1990s. It has more recently been demonstrated in several species by various direct and indirect methodologies. It has generally been demonstrated

Does temperature stress induce nectar secretion in Mediterranean plants?

New Phytologist, 1996
summaryWe studied the effect of temperature on nectar secretion in Thymus capitatus, a typical labiate of phrygana (i.e. the garrigue of the East Mediterranean Basin). Experiments were carried out at controlled temperatures in a climatic chamber. We measured the nectar standing crop of the flowers at the end of the first day of their anthesis.
