Botanica Helvetica, 2006Matile Ph. 2006. Circadian rhythmicity of nectar secretion in Hoya carnosa. Bot. Helv. 116: 1–7. A simple device for continuous sampling of nectar secreted in single flowers of Hoya carnosa R. Br. (Asclepiadaceae) is described. Sampling at 3 hrs intervals over several days revealed an oscillating secretion with maxima around midnight.

The Journal of Agricultural Science, 19541. The1951 clover experiment. No significant effects on the mean yield of nectar were obtained, but the higher dose of phosphate significantly increased the frequency of zero samples during August, the main flowering and sampling period; so also did the higher dose of potash in the presence of high nitrate.

Nectar Secretion: Its Ecological Context and Physiological Regulation
2011Plants secrete nectar to attract pollinators and indirect defenders. The chemical contents of both floral and extrafloral nectar appear adapted to attract and nourish these two classes of animal mutualists. Being rich in sugars and amino acids, however, nectar also requires protection from nectar robbers and infecting micro-organisms.

Nectar secretion was studied in excised flowers of snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus L.) grown in culture solution during the secretory period. The supply of sugar to the flower was regulated by varying the sugar concentration of the culture medium or the volume of medium entering the flower.

On the nectar secretion in the coconut flowers (Cocos nucifera, Linn.)
Proceedings / Indian Academy of Sciences, 1937(1) Septal nectaries and hydathodes are for the first time reported in the coconut. (2) Nectar is secreted by the stigmatic surface and by three septal nectaries which are provided with outlets below the stigma. There are no secreting glands at the base of the ovary.
