Self‐Assembling Copolymers Encapsulating Single Endothelial Cells Induce Endogenous ECM Deposition and Vascular Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents the first demonstration of stable sub‐50‐micron single‐cell GPM vesicles fabricated through the intrinsic self‐assembly of an amphiphilic copolymer. Hierarchical assembly of cell containing GPM vesicles into microspheres enable tunable, sustained cell delivery with immune protection.

Evaluation of Needle Exchange Programs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Needle exchange programs exist in every major population area in the United States and in many other countries. Some operate legally under emergency health decrees issued by local departments of health, with the stated intention of risk reduction through

Atom–Cluster Synergy in Scalable Fe–Ru Dual‐Site Architectures Accelerates Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanochemically synthesized dual‐site electrocatalyst (RuNC@Fe1NC) accelerates alkaline hydrogen evolution via atomic‐level spatial decoupling. Oxophilic Fe single atoms effectively dissociate water, while adjacent Ru nanoclusters rapidly recombine hydrogen.

Bioinspired Mechanosensitive Organic Artificial Neuron With Programmable Excitatory and Inhibitory Responses via Nonlinear Mechano‐Electrochemical Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organic artificial neurons couple mechanical deformation and ionic environments through nonlinear mechano‐electrochemical dynamics. Mechanical strain and electrolyte concentration reshape their nonlinear electrical characteristics, programming excitatory or inhibitory spiking responses that mimic mechanosensitive biological neurons and enable ...

Public Trust in Needle Exchange Programs: The Role of Information [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This research is based on a telephone survey conducted in 2004 of San Diego residents (N = 400) who live in a neighborhood where a pilot needle exchange program was operating. The authors perform a multivariate analysis and find that level of information

Locked Out, Opened Up and Locked In by Needle and Syringe Exchange Programs: Harm Reduction in the Swedish Prohibitionist Context

open access: yesContemporary Drug Problems
Intrigued by the overwhelmingly positive response to the needle and syringe exchange program (NSP) by people who inject drugs in Stockholm, this article sought to untangle harm reduction in a prohibitionist drug policy context.

Programmable Carrier‐Free All‐Enzyme Beads for Modular Continuous‐Flow Biocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Genetically encoded enzyme building blocks self‐assemble into monodisperse, carrier‐free protein beads via a droplet‐based formulation strategy. These programmable catalytic particles enable modular continuous‐flow biocatalysis, from single‐enzyme reactions to multi‐enzyme cascades and bead–bead coupled reactor systems.

Report of results of pleural biopsy (Needle biopsy and open biopsy) in 108 cases and 245 biopsies [PDF]

open access: yes, 1960
1. The results of 245 pleural biopsies perfomed in 108 patients including 219 pleural needle biopsies and 26 pleural open biopsies were reported. The method of pleural biopsy seems to be superior to any other currently available diagnostic procedures for
