Light curve solutions of six eclipsing binaries at the lower limit of periods of the W UMa stars
Photometric observations in V and I bands of six eclipsing binaries at the lower limit of the orbital periods of W UMa stars are presented. Three of them are newly discovered eclipsing systems.

The role of iron in normal and impaired testicular function
Abstract Iron plays a critical role in testicular physiology, impacting spermatogenesis, testosterone production, and overall testicular function. Iron homeostasis is maintained through systemic and cellular regulatory mechanisms, including hepcidin‐mediated systemic iron control and the iron‐responsive element/iron regulatory protein (IRE/IRP) system ...

PAH Formation in O-rich Planetary Nebulae
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have been observed in O-rich planetary nebulae towards the Galactic Bulge. This combination of oxygen-rich and carbon-rich material, known as dual-dust or mixed chemistry, is not expected to be seen around such ...

Perception of Relative Depth Interval: Systematic Biases in Perceived Depth [PDF]
Given an estimate of the binocular disparity between a pair of points and an estimate of the viewing distance, or knowledge of eye position, it should be possible to obtain an estimate of their depth separation.

Abstract Many policymakers are unwilling, or think that it is infeasible, to perform comprehensive cost–benefit analysis (CBA) of programmes in social policy arenas. What principles actually underlie CBA? An understanding is necessary to assess whether other evaluation methods are close enough to CBA to provide useful information on social efficiency ...

Cost‐benefit analysis to provide decision criteria: A case study of municipalities in Japan
Abstract This study explores the use of cost‐benefit analysis (CBA) as a decision‐making tool by deriving boundary values that distinguish positive and negative policy outcomes. While traditional CBA relies on fully quantifiable inputs, this approach focuses on providing reference values for uncertain variables, using CO2 emission reductions as an ...

The ALS‐associated E425K mutation uncouples DNAJC7 from the Hsp70 chaperone cycle
DNAJC7 is a J‐domain protein that plays a key role in protein quality control by regulating Hsp70 activity and preventing protein aggregation. We find that the ALS‐associated E425K mutation in DNAJC7 disrupts productive interaction and activation of Hsp70, thereby blocking the transfer and refolding of client proteins such as TDP‐43.
