Application of negative binomial regression in analyzing factors that influence stunting in toddlers

open access: yesDesimal
Stunting is a growth and development disorder caused by a lack of nutrition. This research aims to determine the significant factors that influence cases of stunting among toddlers in North Sumatra province in 2022. By using Negative Binomial Regression,

PERBANDINGAN REGRESI BINOMIAL NEGATIF DAN REGRESI GENERALISASI POISSON DALAM MENGATASI OVERDISPERSI (Studi Kasus: Jumlah Tenaga Kerja Usaha Pencetak Genteng di Br. Dukuh, Desa Pejaten)

open access: yesE-Jurnal Matematika, 2014
Poisson regression is a nonlinear regression that is often used to model count response variable and categorical, interval, or count regressor. This regression assumes equidispersion, i.e., the variance equals the mean.

Fertility among Northern Nigeria women and associated factors: Negative binomial regression model approach

open access: yesBabcock University Medical Journal, 2023
Objective:  The 2020 sustainable development progress report shows that human population growth is a critical barrier to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

PENERAPAN REGRESI BINOMIAL NEGATIF UNTUK MENGATASI OVERDISPERSI PADA REGRESI POISSON

open access: yesE-Jurnal Matematika, 2013
Poisson regression was used to analyze the count data which Poisson distributed. Poisson regression analysis requires state equidispersion, in which the mean value of the response variable is equal to the value of the variance.

Negative Binomial Regression

open access: yesThe Mathematica Journal, 2013
where m > 0 is the mean of Y and a > 0 is the heterogeneity parameter. Hilbe [1] derives this parametrization as a Poisson-gamma mixture, or alternatively as the number of failures before the H1 e aLth success, though we will not require 1 e a to be an integer.

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Emergence of Independent Candidates:A Negative Binomial Regression Model of anIndian Parliamentary Election [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The paper specifies a model of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system in which political parties themselves float independent candidates to gain electoral advantage, leading to a Prisoners’ Dilemma type game where each party tries to out ...

Shared Genetic Effects and Antagonistic Pleiotropy Between Multiple Sclerosis and Common Cancers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Epidemiologic studies have reported inconsistent altered cancer risk in individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). Factors such as immune dysregulation, comorbidities, and disease‐modifying therapies may contribute to this variability.

A Negative Binomial Regression Model of Student Absenteeism in the Principles of Microeconomics

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings, 2023
We investigated the determinants of absenteeism in the Principles of Microeconomics at a rural state university in Pennsylvania. We apply Poisson statistics and a negative binomial of both Type 1 and 2 models to estimate absenteeism behavior.
