Symmetrical Negative Differential Resistance Behavior of a Resistive Switching Device

ACS Nano, 2012
With a thin insulator sandwiched between two electrodes, the negative differential resistance (NDR) behavior has been frequently reported for its potential device applications. Here we report the experimental observation of a symmetric NDR characteristic in a resistive switching device based on TiO(2).

Three-Terminal Graphene Negative Differential Resistance Devices

ACS Nano, 2012
A new mechanism for negative differential resistance (NDR) is discovered in three-terminal graphene devices based on a field-effect transistor configuration. This NDR effect is a universal phenomenon for graphene and is demonstrated in devices fabricated with different types of graphene materials and gate dielectrics.

Negative differential resistance in polyoxometalates

JETP Letters, 2015
Large-scale (with peak-to-valley ratios up to 100) controllable multiple negative differential resistances have been revealed in tunneling spectra of one of the polyoxometalates (ammonium decamolybdodicobaltate(III)) in experiments with a scanning tunneling microscope in air under normal conditions and standard humidity.

Negative Differential Resistance in Negative Capacitance FETs

IEEE Electron Device Letters, 2018
We report the investigation of negative differential resistance (NDR) in negative capacitance (NC) germanium (Ge) pFETs. The NDR in NC transistors is attributed to the coupling of drain voltage to the internal gate voltage ${V}_{\text {int}}$ via the gate-to-drain capacitance.

Negative Differential Resistance in Phenylene Ethynylene Oligomers

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2002
The origin of the sharp peak profile (i.e., negative differential resistance, NDR) observed in the I/V curves of three-ring phenylene ethynylene oligomers is a topic of major current interest. Here, quantum-chemical calculations are performed to analyze the evolution of the one-electron structure of an unsubstituted three-ring oligomer under the ...

Negative differential resistance in armchair silicene nanoribbons

Nanotechnology, 2017
Due to dimensional confinement of carriers and non-trivial changes in the electronic structure, novel tunable transport properties manifest in nanoscale materials. Here, we report using first-principles density functional theory and non-equilibrium Green's function formalism, the occurrence of negative differential resistance (NDR) in armchair silicene
