Compound Log-Series Distribution with Negative Multinomial Summands

open access: green, 2017
The paper presents the first full characterization of multivariate random sum with one and the same Logarithmic Series number of summands in each coordinate. The summands with equal indexes in any coordinate are Negative Multinomially distributed. We show that considered as a mixture, the resulting distribution coincides with Mixed Negative Multinomial

q-Multinomial and negativeq-multinomial distributions

open access: closedCommunications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2020
The notion of a Bernoulli trial is extended, by introducing recursively different kinds (ranks, levels) of success and failure, to a Bernoulli trial with chain-composite success (or failure).

Orthogonal polynomials on the negative multinomial distribution

open access: closedJournal of Multivariate Analysis, 1975
AbstractOrthogonal polynomials on the multivariate negative binomial distribution, (1 + Θ)−α−x(πj=0pΘjxjxj!) Γ(α + x)Γ(α) where α > 0, Θ1 > 0, x = Σ Θi, x0, x1, …, xp = 0,1, … are constructed and their properties studied.

Application of the negative multinomial distribution to comparative Poisson clinical trials of multiple experimental treatments versus a single control

open access: green, 2019
Clinical trials that compare one or more experimental treatments to a control treatment in which event incidence (i.e. incidence of disease or an adverse event) is rare often assume that comparative Poisson methodology is appropriate for modeling the number of events that occur in each treatment group.

Knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward obesity and their determinants: a cross-sectional study [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
BackgroundObesity remains a major global health challenge and a significant contributor to chronic diseases. This study aimed to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) related to obesity and to identify sociodemographic and clinical factors ...

Estimating effective reproduction number revisited

open access: yesInfectious Disease Modelling, 2023
Accurately estimating the effective reproduction number is crucial for characterizing the transmissibility of infectious diseases to optimize interventions and responses during epidemic outbreaks. In this study, we improve the estimation of the effective
