Impulsive Flashover Characteristics and Weibull Statistical Analysis of Gas-Solid Interfaces With Varying Relative Humidity

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper informs on the flashover strength of three materials: Delrin (polyoxymethylene), HDPE (high-density polyethylene) and Ultem (polyetherimide) with smooth surface finishes, in zero-grade air at -0.5, 0 and 0.5 bar gauge, and at <; 10%, ~50 ...

Negative sensitive items in Turkish: Negative polarity or negative concord?

open access: yesRumeliDE Dil ve Edebiyat Araştırmaları Dergisi, 2020
This paper is concerned with the nature of negative sensitive items such as hiçkimse ‘no one’ and asla ‘never’ in Turkish. It is well attested in previous studies that these negative sensitive elements require the obligatory presence of sentential negation or some other licensor in the structure.

Polarization-filtering and polarization-maintaining low-loss negative curvature fibers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
We propose a polarization-filtering and polarization-maintaining negative curvature fiber in which two nested resonant tubes are added to a standard negative curvature fiber with one ring of tubes. The coupling between the glass modes in the nested resonant tubes and the fundamental core modes is used to increase the birefringence and differential loss

Cdc42 is not essential for filopodium formation, directed migration, cell polarization, and mitosis in fibroblastoid cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Udgivelsesdato: 2005-OctCdc42 is a small GTPase involved in the regulation of the cytoskeleton and cell polarity. To test whether Cdc42 has an essential role in the formation of filopodia or directed cell migration, we generated Cdc42-deficient ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Deep Memory Networks for Attitude Identification

open access: yes, 2017
We consider the task of identifying attitudes towards a given set of entities from text. Conventionally, this task is decomposed into two separate subtasks: target detection that identifies whether each entity is mentioned in the text, either explicitly ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Building Phrase Polarity Lexicons for Sentiment Analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Interactive Multimedia and Artificial Intelligence, 2018
Many approaches to sentiment analysis benefit from polarity lexicons. Most polarity lexicons include a list of polar (positive/negative) words, and sentiment analysis systems attempt to capture the occurrence of those words in text using polarity ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Yes or no, or how to answer a negative question

open access: yesLinguistica, 2016
This paper deals with answers to negative yes-no questions, focusing on data from Czech. It is shown that answering particles can express both positive and negative answers to negative questions, but that their choice is not free.
