Dynamic characteristics of negative stiffness structure with high static and low dynamic stiffness
Negative stiffness (NS) structures have obvious advantages in attenuating low-frequency vibration. Although most existing NS structures exhibit good damping effects, their stability is poor, limiting their application in complex mechanical systems.

A negative stiffness inertial nonlinear energy sink
Abstract In this paper, a novel negative stiffness inertial nonlinear energy sink (NSI-NES) is proposed. The main structure is simulated as a single-degree-of-freedom linear oscillator. Newton's second law is applied to derive the kinematic equations of the coupled system.

Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

Vibration Isolation System Using Negative Stiffness [PDF]
Active vibration isolation systems using negative stiffness were presented. Connecting a negative-stiffness suspension with a normal spring in series can generate infinite stiffness against disturbances acting on the isolation table. This property is maintained even if a suspension to support the weight of the isolation table is introduced in parallel ...

Experimental investigation of lateral forces induced by flow through model labyrinth glands [PDF]
The lateral forces induced by flow through model labyrinth glands were investigated. Circumferential pressure distributions, lateral forces and stiffness coefficients data obtained are discussed. The force system is represented as a negative spring and a

A 2D metamaterial with auxetic out-of-plane behavior and non-auxetic in-plane behavior
Customarily, in-plane auxeticity and synclastic bending behavior (i.e. out-of-plane auxeticity) are not independent, being the latter a manifestation of the former. Basically, this is a feature of three-dimensional bodies.
