Sophisticated Audio Source Separation: A Statistical Exploration of Clarity and Precision With FastICA

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
This workflow presents a complete pipeline for audio data processing, beginning with format conversion, channel adjustments, and cleaning, followed by enhancement and visualization techniques. It further applies signal separation using FastICA, postprocessing, and evaluation metrics (SDR, SIR, SAR) to improve audio analysis and support future research ...

The Missing Link between Morphemic Assemblies and Behavioral Responses:a Bayesian Information-Theoretical model of lexical processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present the Bayesian Information-Theoretical (BIT) model of lexical processing: A mathematical model illustrating a novel approach to the modelling of language processes. The model shows how a neurophysiological theory of lexical processing relying on

Equalisation based on negentropy minimisation

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2003
An equalisation method based on negentropy minimisation is introduced and its characteristics are investigated. Negentropy includes higher order statistical information and its error minimisation provides improved convergence and performance. The bit error ratio of the proposed method has similar characteristics to the adaptive minimum bit error rate ...

Beamforming With a Maximum Negentropy Criterion [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing, 2009
In this paper, we address a beamforming application based on the capture of far-field speech data from a single speaker in a real meeting room. After the position of the speaker is estimated by a speaker tracking system, we construct a subband-domain beamformer in generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC) configuration. In contrast to conventional practice,

Information as Work and as Value

open access: yestripleC: Communication, Capitalism & Critique, 2017
This article suggests an approach to Marx's capital valorisation theory supported by a dialectical information theory as developed by physicians, biologists and also communication theorists during the second half of the 20th century.

st‐DenseViT: A Weakly Supervised Spatiotemporal Vision Transformer for Dense Prediction of Dynamic Brain Networks

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 14, 01 October 2025.
Overview of the proposed spatiotemporal dense prediction framework. The model takes 4D fMRI data as input and generates dynamic brain maps that evolve over time. The input is first patchified into a sequence of spatiotemporal tokens. A Vision Transformer (ViT) encoder is used to model complex spatial and temporal dependencies across these tokens.

Many Faces of Entropy or Bayesian Statistical Mechanics

open access: yes, 2010
Some 80-90 years ago, George A. Linhart, unlike A. Einstein, P. Debye, M. Planck and W. Nernst, has managed to derive a very simple, but ultimately general mathematical formula for heat capacity vs.

‘My body was no longer a problem’: Electric mountain biking, disability, and the cultural politics of green exercise

open access: yesTransactions of the Institute of British Geographers, Volume 50, Issue 3, September 2025.
Abstract Disability is often overlooked in discussions of green exercise. Consequently, we still know little about how ableist ideologies might play out in the context of nature engagement, or the forms of pleasure that disabled people derive from participation in green spaces.

Consciousness in Evolution: Sketch for a New Model – A Speculation [PDF]

open access: yesIntegral Review, 2009
It is hypothesized that hierarchically negentropic systems (defined herein), including organisms, are associated with partially non-local information/probability fields which, a) entail or express interiority, b) engender “entangled learning” with ...
