Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy in Bionanotechnology: Current Advances and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) enables the nanoscale mapping of electrostatic surface potentials. While widely applied in materials science, its use in biological systems remains emerging. This review presents recent advances in KPFM applied to biological samples and provides a critical perspective on current limitations and future directions for

Using Gaussian Processes to Optimise Concession in Complex Negotiations against Unknown Opponents

open access: yes, 2011
In multi-issue automated negotiation against unknown opponents, a key part of effective negotiation is the choice of concession strategy. In this paper, we develop a principled concession strategy, based on Gaussian processes predicting the opponent's ...

Flexoelectrically Induced Polar Topology in Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted SrTiO3 bilayers host polar vortices of flexoelectric origin, revealed through combined experiment and theory. By reconstructing polarization from the toroidal moment of strain gradients, the work establishes a 3D chiral state with broken inversion and mirror symmetries.

A Framework for Deliberation and Negotiation among BDI Agents

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2005
This work presents an interaction model among collaborative agents based on dialogues. For the specification we use a formalism, called Dialogue Games, which allows to describe the nature of the utterances available in each dialogue.

Agent-based simulations backing use of role-playing games as dialogue support tools : Teaching from experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Role-playing games and computerized models are increasingly used to support negotiation processes with training, learning or policy making aims. They both have advantages and inconvenient.

Poking Pluripotency: Nanoinjection Into Human iPSCs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoinjection into hiPSCs: silicon nanotubes effectively transfect human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) with mRNA, enabled by a delayed extracellular matrix application and enhanced surface functionalization. Nanoinjection is demonstrated with several reporter mRNA, including co‐transfection of mCherry and GFP.
