Sperm Oxidative Stress Is Detrimental to Embryo Development: A Dose‐Dependent Study Model and a New and More Sensitive Oxidative Status Evaluation

open access: yesOxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity, Volume 2016, Issue 1, 2016., 2016
Our study aimed to assess the impact of sperm oxidative stress on embryo development by means of a dose‐dependent model. In experiment 1, straws from five bulls were subjected to incubation with increasing H2O2 doses (0, 12.5, 25, and 50 μM). Motility parameters were evaluated by Computed Assisted System Analysis (CASA).

Transcriptome Analysis Revealed the Affecting Mechanism of Two Diets, Trash Fish or Compound Feed, on Flesh Quality of Largemouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides)

open access: yesAquaculture Research, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
This study revealed the affecting mechanism of trash fish (TF) and compound feed (CF) on the flesh quality of largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) based on muscle transcriptome. Largemouth bass weighing 75.0 ± 0.1 g were given TF or CF for a period of 12 weeks. The CF group presented significantly higher feed efficiency (FE) than the TF group (p < 0.

Biosensor capability of the endometrium is mediated in part, by altered miRNA cargo from conceptus‐derived extracellular vesicles

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 38, Issue 10, 31 May 2024.
Differences in the response of the endometrium to embryos with different developmental competencies have been reported. Here we transfer embryos with different developmental potential (in vivo – high likelihood of pregnancy success; in vitro – intermediate‐quality embryos; and clones – low developmental competency) into synchronized recipients and ...

Radiographic Analysis of the Beef Cattle Digits Slaughtered after 114 Days of Confinement

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine International, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Foot disorders are responsible for up to 5% of confinement losses. Identifying the cause of lameness and applying the correct treatment are crucial measures. The possibility of determining the probable origins of digital lesions, their extension, and assistance in cases in which it was not possible to reach a definitive clinical diagnosis demonstrates ...
