Trophic Relationships of Aquatic Species Offer Valuable Insights Into Shallow Lake Ecosystem Recovery

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2025.
Trophic relationships indicated a hysteretic food web response to restoration. Plankton was the primary food source for fish and invertebrates in BYD. Aquatic plants primarily contributed to the humus formation in BYD. ABSTRACT Shallow freshwater lakes are vital for ecological and climate regulation, but many are degrading. Although restoration efforts

A Supraparticle‐Based Approach to Robust Biomimetic Superhydrophobic Coatings

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 42, October 23, 2025.
Superhydrophobic coatings are fabricated using supraparticles as intermediate building blocks with inherent hierarchical roughness features. Applied via spray‐coating onto a polymeric primer to anchor the supraparticles, these coatings show a hierarchical micro‐nanostructure, closely mimicking the lotus leaf.

Factors determining chromosomal localization of transposable elements in plants

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 27, Issue 6, Page 975-989, October 2025.
We review transposon chromosomal niches, and the functional consequences of their specific chromosomal localization in plants. Abstract Transposable elements (TEs) constitute a significant part of plant genomes and shape their genomic landscape. While some TEs are ubiquitously dispersed, other elements specifically occupy discrete genomic loci.

Research progress on the metabolic transformation of Shenling Baizhu San under the influence of the gut microbiota

open access: yesAdvanced Chinese Medicine, Volume 2, Issue 3, Page 103-119, September 2025.
Abstract The gut microbiota plays a pivotal role in maintaining host metabolic homeostasis and overall physiological functions. Shenling Baizhu San (SLBZS), a time‐honored classical prescription for tonifying Qi, strengthening the spleen, removing dampness, and arresting diarrhea, has shown broad clinical efficacy in digestive disorders.
