Chemical constituents from leaves of Nelumbo nucifera

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica, 2013
To study the chemical constituents, twenty-seven compounds were isolated from the 70% ethanol extract from leaves of Nelumbo nucifera by modern chromatographic techniques. Their structures were identified as 10-octacosanol (1), beta-sitosterol (2), 1-undecanol (3), 1-eicosanol (4), daucosterol (5), 6'-hydroxy-4,4'-dimethoxychalcone (6), 3,7,8 ...

Antioxidant activity of Nelumbo nucifera (sacred lotus) seeds

Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2006
Antioxidant activity of hydro alcoholic extract of Nelumbo nucifera seeds (HANN) was studied using in vitro and in vivo models. Total phenolic content in HANN was found to be 7.61 +/- 0.04% (w/w). Characteristic HPTLC fingerprints of HANN were also made using different solvent systems.

Antioxidant principles ofNelumbo nucifera stamens

Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2003
In our ongoing study to identity antioxidants from natural sources, the antioxidant activity of Nelumbo nucifera stamens was evaluated for their potential to scavenge stable 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radicals, inhibit total reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, in kidney homogenatas using 2',7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate ...

A New Flavolignan from Nelumbo nucifera Leaves

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 2014
A new flavolignan, isohydnocarpin A (1), together with three known flavolignans, isohydnocarpin (2), hydnocarpin B (3), and hydnocarpin D (4), was isolated from the leaves of Nelumbo nicifera. The structure of the new compound was determined based on spectroscopic methods including 1D and 2D NMR and MS spectrometry.

Fungi from leaves of lotus (Nelumbo nucifera)

Mycological Progress, 2017
In spite of the self-cleaning property of its leaves called the lotus effect, leaves of lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) provide a habitat for an unknown fungal diversity. The aim of this study was to detect and identify fungi from leaves of N. nucifera, including ectophytic, parasitic and endophytic fungi, in Taiwan using different collection strategies, as ...
