Essential Oil from Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner

open access: yesJournal of Japan Oil Chemists' Society, 1983
The essential oil was obtained by steam distillation from leaves and stalks of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner which were collected at Neyagawa-shi (Osaka prefecture) in September 1980.Each essential oil was chemically separated into three parks, i.e. neutral, sodium hydrogencarbonate soluble, and sodium hydroxide soluble parts.

A Supraparticle‐Based Approach to Robust Biomimetic Superhydrophobic Coatings

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 42, October 23, 2025.
Superhydrophobic coatings are fabricated using supraparticles as intermediate building blocks with inherent hierarchical roughness features. Applied via spray‐coating onto a polymeric primer to anchor the supraparticles, these coatings show a hierarchical micro‐nanostructure, closely mimicking the lotus leaf.

Factors determining chromosomal localization of transposable elements in plants

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 27, Issue 6, Page 975-989, October 2025.
We review transposon chromosomal niches, and the functional consequences of their specific chromosomal localization in plants. Abstract Transposable elements (TEs) constitute a significant part of plant genomes and shape their genomic landscape. While some TEs are ubiquitously dispersed, other elements specifically occupy discrete genomic loci.

Research progress on the metabolic transformation of Shenling Baizhu San under the influence of the gut microbiota

open access: yesAdvanced Chinese Medicine, Volume 2, Issue 3, Page 103-119, September 2025.
Abstract The gut microbiota plays a pivotal role in maintaining host metabolic homeostasis and overall physiological functions. Shenling Baizhu San (SLBZS), a time‐honored classical prescription for tonifying Qi, strengthening the spleen, removing dampness, and arresting diarrhea, has shown broad clinical efficacy in digestive disorders.

Effectiveness of interval photography cameras for a survey of pollinator communities: Comparison with direct observation

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, Volume 13, Issue 5, September-October 2025.
Abstract Premise Pollinator communities have been surveyed through direct observation, which is labor intensive and difficult for monitoring nocturnal pollinators. Interval photography surveys are increasingly used, although the resulting data from pollinator community surveys have rarely been validated. Methods We surveyed a pollinator community using

Antipyretic activity of seeds from Red and White type of lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) in Albino Rat

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2009
Nelumbo nucifera (red and white types) at dose rates of 400 mg/kg and 600 mg/kg was administered orally in rats in which pyrexia was induced with brewers yeast. The standard drug used was aspirin (100 mg/kg).

Antioxidant activity and DNA fingerprint of four varieties of lotus stamens (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.) [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2008
DNA fingerprints of stamens of four varieties of Nelumbo nucifera (Gaertn) were established and their antioxidant activity was studied. PCR amplification was used for identification of Lotus DNA by using OPS3, OPS11, OPS13 and OPE3 random decamer-primers.
