Discovery of murayaquinone from an endophytic bacterium Streptomyces sp. AN140557 as a potent inhibitor of the pine wood nematode, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus. [PDF]

open access: yesPest Manag Sci
Murayaquinone isolated from the pine endophyte Streptomyces sp. AN140557 exhibits potent, dose‐dependent nematicidal activity and egg‐hatching inhibition against the pine wood nematode. It effectively inhibited pine wilt disease in greenhouse tests, suggesting potential as a promising biocontrol agent.

Inhibitors of Sodium-Dependent Serotonin Transporter Protein (SERT) as Potential New Nematicides. [PDF]

open access: yesChem Biodivers
ABSTRACT Nematodes of the genus Meloidogyne cause major losses in agricultural production worldwide. To identify potentially useful chemical structures for developing new nematicides, this study initially aimed to determine in silico – using computationally efficient techniques – the protein target of chaetoglobosins A and B in these nematodes.

Nematicidal Effects of Volatile Organic Compounds from Microorganisms and Plants on Plant-Parasitic Nematodes

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2022
Plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) are one of the most destructive plant pathogens worldwide, and controlling them is extremely challenging. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which naturally exist in plants and microorganisms, play an important role in ...

Nematicidal Metabolites from the Actinomycete Micromonospora sp. WH06

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2022
A nematicidal actinomycete strain WH06 was isolated from soil samples and was identified using 16S rRNA as Micromonospora sp. Through medium screening and fermentation, 10 metabolites were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of its fermentation broth

Nematicidal Amendments and Soil Remediation [PDF]

open access: yesPlants, 2020
The intensification of agriculture has created concerns about soil degradation and toxicity of agricultural chemicals to non-target organisms. As a result, there is great urgency for discovering new ecofriendly tools for pest management and plant nutrition.

The carB Gene of Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) is Associated with Nematicidal Activity against the Root-Knot Nematode Meloidogyne javanica

open access: yesPathogens, 2021
Biological nematicides have been widely used to lower the losses generated by phytoparasitic nematodes. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the nematicidal effects of Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) against Meloidogyne javanica and to identify ...

Nematicidal Properties of Chitosan Nanoformulation

open access: yesJournal of Nematology, 2023
Abstract Chitosan is the second most abundant bio-polymer available in the world, second only to cellulose. It is found in crustaceous shells, e.g., those of crabs, shrimps, prawns, and fungi, as well as insect exoskeletons.

Pathogenicity and Metabolites of Endoparasitic Nematophagous Fungus Drechmeria coniospora YMF1.01759 against Nematodes

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2021
Plant parasitic nematodes cause severe damage to crops. Endoparasitic nematophagous fungi (ENF) are a type of important biocontrol fungi, which can cause disease or kill nematodes by producing various spores.

Efficacy of Pseudomonas chlororaphis subsp. aureofaciens SH2 and Pseudomonas fluorescens RH43 isolates against root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) in kiwifruit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The Root-knot nematodes, Meloidogyne spp., are parasites of many crops and orchards, including kiwifruit trees. The Islamic Republic of Iran is among the leading kiwifruit producers in the world and M.

Chemical Composition and Activity of Essential Oils of Albanian Coniferous Plants on Plant Pests

open access: yesChemistry Proceedings, 2022
The present study was conducted to evaluate and compare the chemical composition and bioactivity of essential oils on different insect organisms from four Albanian coniferous plants. The phytochemical analysis carried out using GC-MS showed that the oils
