Fungal parasitism of the cysts and eggs of the Globodera rostochiensis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Sciences (Belgrade), 2003
A survey of Globodera rostochiensis infested field in Velingrad region (South-West Bulgaria) revealed the spread of a black egg disease in the old cysts. The fungus mycelium infected the embryos within the egg shell.

Effect of Rhizoglomus fasciculatum and Paecilomyces lilacinus in the biocontrol of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita in Capsicum annuum L

open access: yesCommunicative & Integrative Biology, 2022
Root-knot nematodes possess a major threat to agricultural production of various crops worldwide. The intensive use of chemical nematicides to control plant parasitic nematodes has adverse effects on our environment and human health.

The Growth and Conidiation of Purpureocillium lavendulum Are Co-Regulated by Nitrogen Sources and Histone H3K14 Acetylation

open access: yesJournal of Fungi, 2023
Plant-parasitic nematodes cause severe economic losses to agriculture. As important biocontrol agents, nematophagous fungi evolved the ability to obtain nitrogen sources from nematodes.

Nematophagous Resupinate Basidiomycetous Fungi [PDF]

open access: yesPhytopathology, 1993
Eighteen species of resupinate fungi belonging to Hyphoderma (Corticiaceae) attacked and consumed nematodes by two different mechanisms. Seven Hyphoderma spp. (H. baculorubrense, H. guttuliferum, H. macronatum, H. praetermissum, H. puberum, H. rude, and H. tenue) used adhesive stephanocysts to adhere to, capture, infect, and destroy their prey, whereas

Influence of egg parasitic fungus, Engyodontium aranearum against root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The indigenous egg parasitic fungal isolates, Engyodontium aranearum was evaluated for its nematicidal potential against root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita. The study revealed 53.75 per cent egg parasitization by the fungal isolate.

Predatory Capacity in vitro of Native Nematophagous Fungi from Cundinamarca on Gastrointestinal Nematodes of Cattle

open access: yesRevista de Medicina Veterinaria, 2015
Dependence and indiscriminate use of chemical anthelmintics as the sole method for controlling gastrointestinal nematodes (GIN) of cattle causes problems in the environment, public health, and the productivity of cattle.

Predacious Strategies of Nematophagous Fungi as Bio-Control Agents

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
Plant-parasitic nematodes significantly threaten agriculture and forestry, causing various diseases. They cause annual losses of up to 178 billion dollars worldwide due to their parasitism. Nematophagous fungi (NF) are valuable in controlling or reducing
