Neonatal calf diarrhea induced by rotavirus

open access: yesComparative Immunology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 1988
This presentation summarizes the results of a comprehensive study on rotaviruses isolated in Italy from calves and rabbits affected by neonatal diarrhea. Pathology of Neonatal Calf Diarrhea Induced by a Coronavirus-Like Agent [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary Pathology, 1973
Lesions induced by a bovine coronavirus-like agent were studied in gnotobiotic and colostrum-fed calves using gross, histologic and electron microscopic procedures. Lesions in gnotobiotic calves were present in the colon, mesenteric lymph nodes and in all segments of the small intestine.

Diagnosis of bacteraemia in neonatal foals using 16S rRNA high‐throughput sequencing

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Sepsis is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in foals. Early diagnosis can improve outcome but is complicated by non‐specific clinical signs and delayed confirmation of infection via blood culture. Molecular assays represent a rapid and more sensitive alternative.
