This study reveals a novel mechanistic connection between cancer and ischemia/reperfusion (I/R)‐induced cardiac injury. The meta‐analysis demonstrates significantly higher incidence ratios of both all‐cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality in cancer patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) compared to non‐cancer patients.

Compared to transplantation of neural stem cells (NSCs) alone, the combined treatment of NSCs with semaglutide more effectively improves motor dysfunction in Parkinson's disease (PD) mice. This synergistic effect may result from semaglutide's ability to suppress microglial activation, thereby preventing the transformation of resting astrocytes into ...

We demonstrate that Foxp1± mice, modeling FOXP1 haploinsufficiency, exhibit behavioral deficits, striatal neuroinflammatory changes including altered microglial complexity and synaptic pruning, and markedly reduced Pde10a expression. Pde10a inhibition starting immediately after birth restores Foxp1± behavior, microglial morphology, and pruning ...

Intraocular infections in the neonatal intensive care unit
The purpose of this study was to report on the incidence and treatment outcomes of endogenous endophthalmitis among newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of a single medical center. This was a noncomparative, retrospective case series of endogenous endophthalmitis among infants at the Jackson Memorial Hospital NICU treated between March 1,

Early childhood caries (ECC) involves cariogenic persisters that evade antimicrobial treatment. Persisters achieve this by downregulating heat shock proteins (HSPs) and formation of protein aggregates. Ti3C2 MXene‐based photothermal therapy (PTT) acts as a “nanothermal knife,” disrupting membranes, upregulating HSPs, inhibits aggregates, prevents ...

Corticokinematic coherence as a new marker for somatosensory afference in newborns [PDF]
Objective: Somatosensory evoked potentials have high prognostic value in neonatal intensive care, but their recording from infants is challenging. Here, we studied the possibility to elicit cortical responses in newborns by simple passive hand movements.

B‐OMVs, nanoscale vesicles derived from BCG, are identified as effective and safe inducers of trained immunity that protect against sepsis. Through TLR2‐mediated metabolic and epigenetic reprogramming of hematopoietic stem cells, B‐OMVs enhance inflammatory response and phagocytic activity.
