Introducción: el cáncer colorrectal se origina en el colon o el recto, afortunadamente tarda bastante tiempo en alcanzar etapas avanzadas y en un porcentaje elevado de casos presenta lesiones benignas previas, los adenomas,  que con la evolución se transforman en cáncer, primero precoz y luego avanzado.

Dynamics of the association between circulating levels of miRNA and pancreatic cancer risk through the years prior to pancreatic cancer diagnosis

What's new? Early diagnosis is critical for improving pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma prognosis, but few biomarkers currently exist. In a case–control study of 1,307 pancreatic cancer cases and matched pairs nested in prospective cohort studies, 13 miRNA–cancer associations were found to change during the blood‐draw‐to‐diagnosis time window.

PHLPP is neither a Phosphatase nor a Tumor Suppressor

PH domain leucine‐rich repeat protein phosphatases (PHLPP) have been described as Akt phosphatases and tumor suppressors for more than 20 years. Recent evidence, however, indicates that they are pseudophosphatases that lost catalytic activity more than 450 Mya. This article argues that new hypotheses are urgently needed to reorient the field.
