METASTASIS OF NEOPLASMS TO THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM AND MENINGES

Archives of Neurology And Psychiatry, 1954
THERE ARE few reports of metastatic neoplasms in the central nervous system and meninges based on study of a large series of complete necropsies. An unusually large number of such examinations on patients with cancer was available at Montefiore Hospital. An analysis of the findings in this group is presented.

Lymphatic Metastasis of Neoplasms

1983
Human cancers commonly metastasize by the lymphatics to draining lymph nodes. The existence of lymphatic vessels has been known since the observations of Aselli in 1622 and the fact that cancer can spread to lymph nodes was “well-known”to Pearson in 1793 (reviewed by Mayerson, 1969; Onuigbo, 1972).

Skin Metastasis From Malignant Neoplasms-Reply

Archives of Dermatology, 1982
In Reply.— We appreciate Dr Hussey's interest in our article on a histologically specific transitional cell metastasis to the skin from a primary tumor of the urinary tract. Whether this cutaneous metastasis resulted from direction extension from an underlying regional lymph node or by direct hematogenous spread remains unclear.

Skin Metastasis From Malignant Neoplasms

Archives of Dermatology, 1982
To the Editor.— In the JanuaryArchives, Freeman et al (1982;118:40-41) and Debois (1982;118:42-43) described skin metastases from malignant neoplasms of the uterus. Neither article gives a definite explanation for the route of such rare metastases. In both instances, the authors might well have considered spread via the vertebral venous system as a ...

Metastasis of Invertebrate Neoplasms

1989
The ability to demonstrate metastasis in an invertebrate is a difficult problem for several reasons: (1) many invertebrates have no circulatory system (2) the majority of invertebrates that do have a circulatory system is based on an open system with large blood sinuses (3) many invertebrates have non discrete organ systems (4) relatively few neoplasms

[The treatment options of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm with liver metastasis].

Zhonghua wai ke za zhi [Chinese journal of surgery], 2017
Liver metastasis is the one of the main prognostic factors of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm (PNEN). With the development of multidisciplinary collaboration among surgical oncology, medical oncology, and intervention treatment, the treatment of PNEN with liver metastasis gradually tends to become diversification.
