Noninvasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features (NIFTP): a review for clinicians.

open access: yesEndocrine-Related Cancer, 2019
Noninvasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features (NIFTP) is an encapsulated or clearly delimited, noninvasive neoplasm with a follicular growth pattern and nuclear features of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).

Flow‐based immunomagnetic enrichment of circulating tumor cells from diagnostic leukapheresis product

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The number of circulating tumor cells obtained from prostate cancer patients was increased approximately 5‐fold compared to regular CellSearch when processing 2 mL diagnostic leukapheresis material aliquots and increased by 44‐fold when processing 20 mL DLA aliquots using the flow enrichment target capture Halbach‐array.

Tumour-to-tumour metastasis: Rectal adenocarcinoma metastasis to medullary carcinoma of thyroid—Case report and review of the literature

open access: yesHuman Pathology Reports, 2022
Tumour-to-tumour metastasis is a rare incidence. Metastasis from colorectal cancer to primary thyroid neoplasm is extremely rare. We report a case of metastatic rectal adenocarcinoma to a medullary thyroid carcinoma.

Subpar reporting of pre‐analytical variables in RNA‐focused blood plasma studies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical variables strongly influence the analysis of extracellular RNA (cell‐free RNA; exRNA) derived from blood plasma. Their reporting is essential to allow interpretation and replication of results. By evaluating 200 exRNA studies, we pinpoint a lack of reporting pre‐analytical variables associated with blood collection, plasma preparation ...

Antitumor Effect of a Neutralizing Antibody to Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor on Liver Metastasis of Endocrine Neoplasm

open access: yesJapanese journal of cancer research : Gann, 1998
Distant metastasis of gastrointestinal endocrine neoplasm is resistant to currently available treatments. Because hematogenic metastasis is dominant, anti‐angiogenic drugs are expected to be a novel therapy for this neoplasm.

Identification of functional and diverse circulating cancer‐associated fibroblasts in metastatic castration‐naïve prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote cancer growth, invasion (metastasis), and drug resistance. Here, we identified functional and diverse circulating CAFs (cCAFs) in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). cCAFs were found in higher numbers and were functional and diverse in mPCa patients versus healthy individuals, suggesting their ...

Paratesticular metastasis from colorectal adenocarcinoma presenting as hydrocele: a rare case report and literature review

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
Colorectal cancer, with the liver being the most common site of distant metastasis, followed by the lungs and bones. Although reports of metastasis to the testis exist, paratesticular metastasis is extremely rare.

Clinically Undiagnosed Prostate Carcinoma Metastatic to Renal Oncocytoma

open access: yesCase Reports in Urology, 2012
Tumors-to-tumor metastasis is an uncommon occurrence and can be a source of great diagnostic difficulty, especially when the donor tumor is undiagnosed.

Coexistence of a Carotid Body Tumor and Thyroglossal Duct Carcinoma With Cervical Lymph Node Metastasis [PDF]

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology, 2014
Thyroglossal duct carcinoma is uncommon, occurring in approximately 1% of all thyroglossal duct remnants. This rare neoplasm is characterized by relatively nonaggressive behavior with infrequent lymph nodal spread.

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (
