A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Diagnostic Endoscopic Ultrasound: Technique, Current Status and Future Directions

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2018
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is now well established as an important tool in clinical practice. From purely diagnostic imaging, it has progressed to include tissue acquisition, which provided the basis for therapeutic procedures.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Extensive Intramedullary Spread of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma with Minimal Intraoral Manifestation: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
Globally, Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) is a significant public health problem, especially in developing countries, where delayed diagnosis often leads to advanced-stage presentation and poor outcomes. OSCC typically presents with visible intraoral

Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.

Endoscopic ultrasound in the pre-therapeutic staging of gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma: the diagnostic value in defining patients eligible for a neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimen

open access: yesVideosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques, 2010
Introduction: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimens have been proven to decrease tumour size and stage and significantlyimprove progression-free and overall survival in the treatment of locoregional advanced gastroesophagealadenocarcinomas.

Low accuracy of endoscopic ultrasonography for detailed T staging in gastric cancer

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2012
Background The accuracy of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) for preoperative staging of gastric cancer varies. The aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy of EUS tumor (T) and node (N) staging, and to identify the histopathological factors ...

Tumor and germline testing with next generation sequencing in epithelial ovarian cancer: a prospective paired comparison using an 18‐gene panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.
