Neuronal and Astrocytic Differentiation in Human Neuroepithelial Neoplasms An Immunohistochemical Study

Journal of Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology, 1983
Neuroepithelial neoplasms of childhood were examined immunohistochemically using antibodies against a neurofilament polypeptide and glial fibrillary acidic protein. Ninety-one cases, including 11 controls, were examined. Positively reacting cells, indicating neuronal and glial differentiation, were found in 59 of the 80 tumors.

Lymphoma and uncommon neuroepithelial neoplasms

Journal de Radiologie, 2008
Objectifs Understand the pathologic-radiologic correlation of CNS Iymphoma. Recognize common imaging manifestations of CNS lymphoma that suggest the diagnosis. Identify the broad spectrum of peripheral neoplasms on imaging studies and their correlation with seizure activity clinically.

Synaptophysin expressed in the bronchopulmonary tract: Neuroendocrine cells, neuroepithelial bodies, and neuroendocrine neoplasms

Differentiation, 1987
Synaptophysin is an integral membrane glycoprotein with an Mr of 38,000 that occurs in the small, clear vesicles present in neuronal cells and tumors as well as in pancreatic islet cells and various neuroendocrine (NE) carcinomas. We found that synaptophysin is also expressed in normal NE cells of the lungs of newborn rabbits and mice as well as of ...

FAMILIAL OCCURRENCE OF DYSEMBRYOPLASTIC NEUROEPITHELIAL TUMOR-LIKE NEOPLASM OF THE SEPTUM PELLUCIDUM

Neurosurgery, 2008
Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor (DNT)-like neoplasms of the septum pellucidum are extremely rare. In this article, we report the familial occurrence of these neoplasms. We report two cases of such neoplasms: Patient 1, a 42-year-old woman, and Patient 2, the 20-year-old nephew of Patient 1.

Neoplasms of mixed mesenchymal and neuroepithelial type With consideration of the relationship between meningioma and neurilemmoma

Journal of the Neurological Sciences, 1971
Abstract Four cases are described of intracranial neoplasms of mixed mesenchymal and neuroepithelial (glial) type. The multipotential mesenchyme differentiated into meningioma, neurilemmoma and rhabdomyosarcoma in various combinations, but meningioma was common to all 4 instances.

3. Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumourlike neoplasm of the septum pellucidum: a case report

Pathology, 2015
Background Dysembryoplastic Neuroepithelial Tumour-like Neoplasm of the Septum Pellucidum is a rare, low grade CNS neoplasm that may be misdiagnosed as a diffuse glioma. Clinical features We report a case of a 22 year old woman who presented with a first seizure.

[Radiation and combined treatment of anaplastic neuroepithelial neoplasms].

Meditsinskaia radiologiia, 1990
The data on 645 patients with anaplastic neuroepithelial tumors subjected to radiotherapy, irradiation with radiosensitizers (metronidazole) and chemoradiotherapy are presented. Total-differential brain irradiation was applied: 10-40 Gy on the whole brain and 10-20 Gy on the tumor bed. Fractionation depended on tumor radiosensitivity.

Surgery, hyperfractionated craniospinal irradiation, and adjuvant chemotherapy in the management of supratentorial embryonal neuroepithelial neoplasms in children

Surgical Neurology, 1993
Supratentorial embryonal neuroepithelial tumors are undifferentiated neoplasms. We have used this term in preference to the controversial classification primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNET). These lesions in children are malignant neoplasms which are usually fatal within 2 years of diagnosis in spite of therapy with surgery, radiotherapy, and ...

Dysembryoplastic Neuroepithelial Tumor-Like Neoplasm of the Septum Pellucidum: A Lesion Often Misdiagnosed as Glioma

The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2001
The authors report a series of 10 low-grade neoplasms arising in the midline anteriorly in the region of the septum pellucidum with many of the histologic features of dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor (DNT). The patients (five female, five male) ranged in age from 6 to 35 years (mean age, 21.5 years).
