Radiation-induced neoplasms of the brain
Cancer, 1987The histopathology of two patients with radiation-induced neoplasms of the brain following therapeutic irradiation for intracranial malignancies is described. The second neoplasms were an atypical meningioma and a polymorphous cell sarcoma, respectively.

Radiation-induced pancreatitis: Search for the neoplasm!
Clinics and Research in Hepatology and Gastroenterology, 2012The management of a patient with a post-radiation pancreatitis is reported. Several biopsies and imaging failed to diagnose the radiation-induced carcinoma revealed during emergency laparotomy. This diagnosis must be kept in mind, and repeated biopsies are necessary.

Radiation-Induced Cutaneous Neoplasms in a Sheep
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1971SUMMARY A fibrosarcoma with regional lymph node metastases and a keratoacanthoma occurred in a female sheep 9 years after she was exposed at 2 skin sites to surface doses of 16,000 rads from a 32P source.

Complication of Thyroidectomy in Patients With Radiation-Induced Thyroid Neoplasms
Archives of Surgery, 2004The complication rate for thyroidectomy is the same in patients with and without a history of radiation exposure.Retrospective medical record review of 171 consecutive patients who had a previous history of radiation treatment and had undergone a thyroid operation from 1961 to 1999.University of California, San Francisco, Medical Center and affiliated ...

Radiation induced thyroid neoplasms 1920 to 1987: A vanishing problem?
International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, 1989Radiation for benign diseases has been implicated as an etiologic factor in thyroid cancer. From 1930-60, over 2 million children may have been exposed to therapeutic radiation and it is estimated that up to 7% may develop thyroid cancer after a 5-40 year latency.

Radiation-Induced Thyroid Neoplasms: Evidence for Familial Susceptibility Factors*
The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1988To determine if there is a familial component to susceptibility to radiation-induced thyroid neoplasms, we studied 572 individuals who were members of 286 sibpairs who received childhood radiation treatment and for whom follow-up information was obtained. Of these 572 individuals, 240 (42.0%) had thyroid neoplasms (benign and malignant), and 75 (13.1%)

Abstract A1-03: Mutational analysis of ionizing radiation-induced neoplasms
Cancer Research, 2015Abstract Introduction: Ionizing radiation is a known mutagen and can cause cancers in different contexts, for example second malignant neoplasms (SMNs). SMNs are therapy-induced malignancies and severe late complications that develop in cancer survivors, particularly survivors of pediatric cancers who have received radiotherapy.

[Study on radiation-induced malignant neoplasms].
Gan no rinsho. Japan journal of cancer clinics, 1984Nineteen patients with newly developed malignant neoplasms following radiotherapy are presented. The primary lesions of 6 patients were tuberculous cervical lymphadenitis, the primary lesions of the other 13 patients were malignant neoplasms. The radiation-induced malignant neoplasms of 15 patients were epithelial, only 4 patients were non-epithelial ...

[Update in radiation-induced neoplasms: genetic studies].
Bulletin du cancer, 2002Radiation induced tumors are a possible (very) late complications of radiotherapy. The evaluation of the risks of radiation-induced tumors has been presented in different epidemiological studies, with the evaluation of the relative risk for different tissues. But, the genetic studies are rare, and no global theory exists.
