Radiation-induced mouse liver neoplasms and hepatocyte survival.
Journal of the National Cancer Institute, 1986Transplantation of hepatocytes from CBA/Cne mice into the fat pads of isogeneic recipients has been used for the quantitative in vivo study of cell survival and risk of transformation after x-ray irradiation (1-7 Gy). A survival curve for liver cells was generated in vivo with a D0 of 3.08 Gy and an extrapolation number not significantly different from

Sarcomas rarely follow irradiation of benign lesions of bone as the dangers of this form of therapy is well recognised. Forty-three patients with soft tissue neoplasms - mainly carcinoma - were irradiated and developed sarcomas in the radiation field.

A mathematical model for radiation-induced life-shortening attributed to cancer
International Journal of Radiation Biology, 2023ABSTRCT Purpose In this paper, we described our mathematical model for radiation-induced life shortening in detail and applied the model to the experimental data on mice to investigate the effect of radiation on cancer-related life-shortening.

Radiation-induced pancreatitis: Search for the neoplasm!
Clinics and Research in Hepatology and Gastroenterology, 2012The management of a patient with a post-radiation pancreatitis is reported. Several biopsies and imaging failed to diagnose the radiation-induced carcinoma revealed during emergency laparotomy. This diagnosis must be kept in mind, and repeated biopsies are necessary.

Radiation-Induced Cutaneous Neoplasms in a Sheep
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1971SUMMARY A fibrosarcoma with regional lymph node metastases and a keratoacanthoma occurred in a female sheep 9 years after she was exposed at 2 skin sites to surface doses of 16,000 rads from a 32P source.

Radiation‐induced morphea and dystrophic calcinosis cutis of the breast
International Journal of Dermatology, 2021asymptomatic erythematous-brownish papules distributed on the trunk and extremities, although a solitary nodular lesion is occasionally observed. Facial lesions can predominate, mimicking the leonine facies or benign cephalic histiocytosis.

Abstract A1-03: Mutational analysis of ionizing radiation-induced neoplasms
Cancer Research, 2015Abstract Introduction: Ionizing radiation is a known mutagen and can cause cancers in different contexts, for example second malignant neoplasms (SMNs). SMNs are therapy-induced malignancies and severe late complications that develop in cancer survivors, particularly survivors of pediatric cancers who have received radiotherapy.

Bone Radiation-Induced Sarcomas: Outcomes Based on Histology and Surgical Treatment
JBJS ReviewsBackground: Bone radiation-induced sarcomas (B-RIS) are secondary neoplasms with reportedly worse overall survival than de novo bone sarcoma. Treatment strategy for these neoplasms remains uncertain.
