Possible fruit protein effects on primate communities in madagascar and the neotropics. [PDF]
The ecological factors contributing to the evolution of tropical vertebrate communities are still poorly understood. Primate communities of the tropical Americas have fewer folivorous but more frugivorous genera than tropical regions of the Old World and

Ultrasonography of the neotropical primate female reproductive system
The Neotropical (e. g., Aotus sp., Callithrix jacchus, Saguinus sp., Saimiri sp., and Sapajus sp.) primates are important models for biomedical research and studies on reproductive physiology and biotechnology.

Patch size, functional isolation, visibility and matrix permeability influences neotropical primate occurrence within highly fragmented landscapes. [PDF]
Forest fragmentation and habitat loss are among the major current extinction causes. Remaining fragments are mostly small, isolated and showing poor quality. Being primarily arboreal, Neotropical primates are generally sensitive to fragmentation effects.

Simian Foamy Viruses in Central and South America: A New World of Discovery
Foamy viruses (FVs) are the only exogenous retrovirus to date known to infect neotropical primates (NPs). In the last decade, an increasing number of strains have been completely or partially sequenced, and molecular evolution analyses have identified an

Herpes Simplex Virus 1 in Trigeminal Ganglia of Trafficked Neotropical Primates, Peru, 2024
We detected herpes simplex virus 1 in the trigeminal ganglia of trafficked Neotropical primates (1 Aotus azarai; 3 Sapajus macrocephalus) in Peru. Tests also revealed Saimiriine alphaherpesvirus 1 in the trigeminal ganglia of 2 Saimiri sp. monkeys.
