PtTe2 interface engineering for enhanced near‐infrared photoresponse in black silicon photodetectors

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
Highly responsive near‐infrared (NIR) photodetectors are essential for advanced photoelectric systems. In this work, a high‐responsivity NIR photodetector is developed by integrating a PtTe2/black silicon (B‐Si) heterostructure into a Si p‐i‐n diode, where B‐Si introduces sub‐bandgap defect states to enhance NIR absorption and the PtTe2 layer induces ...

Spatiotemporal dynamics and driving mechanisms of vegetation carbon sources and sinks in the Heihe River Basin

open access: yesGeocarto International
Net ecosystem productivity (NEP) is a key indicator of ecosystem carbon balance and vegetation carbon source–sink dynamics. The Heihe River Basin (HRB), a representative arid and semi-arid inland basin in northwestern China, provides an ideal natural ...

Determinants of environmental management in the red sea hotels: Personal and organizational values and contextual variables [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
What motivates firms to adopt environmental management practices is one of the most significant aspects in the contemporary academic debate in which the review of the existing literature yields, with an obvious contextual bias toward developed world ...

Alterations in brain metabolites in rats with experimental periodontitis: A metabolomic approach

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Periodontitis (PD) is a chronic inflammatory disease with systemic effects. Emerging evidence suggests a link between periodontal inflammation and neurological changes, but the biochemical mechanisms in key brain regions, such as the hippocampus and amygdala, remain unclear.

Changes in vegetation ecosystem carbon sinks and their response to drought in the karst concentration distribution area of Asia

open access: yesEcological Informatics
Changes in net ecosystem productivity (NEP) in karst areas can have a significant impact on terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycling, yet quantifying changes in vegetation NEP and its response to factors such as drought and hydroclimate remains a difficult ...

Field Studies on the Influence of High‐Voltage Direct Transmission Underground Cables on Soils Along the SuedLink Route in Southwest Germany

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
During regular operation of the SuedLink at a load ≤75 %, the average increase in temperature in the plowing horizon is expected to be less than 1.6°C in the soils along the route in Southwest Germany. ABSTRACT Background The SuedLink was planned as a high‐voltage direct‐current underground cable route. The construction itself is a massive intervention

Mixed‐methods systematic review exploring the associations underpinning active outdoor play with connection to nature and environmental stewardship

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Active outdoor play has been positioned in the literature as an opportunity to address concerns over climate (in)action and the rising trend of disconnection from the outdoors and nature. The objective of this systematic review was to examine associations between active outdoor play and people's connection to nature and/or environmental ...

Correcting for cutoff dependence in backward evolution of QCD parton showers

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Monte Carlo event generators for hard hadronic collisions depend on the evolution of parton showers backwards from a high-scale subprocess to the hadronization scale.

First genome sequence of a European Alternaria brassicae isolate and genes involved in early development of alternaria leaf spot on Brassica juncea

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
This article reports the first genome sequence of a UK Alternaria brassicae isolate. Dual RNA‐sequencing profiling of A. brassicae‐infected Brassica juncea leaves identified differentially expressed genes involved in pathogenicity and host response pathways in moderately resistant Sej‐2 (2) and moderately susceptible Pusa Jaikisan cultivars.
