Numerical simulation of the melting of a NePCM for cooling of electronic components

Thermal Science and Engineering Progress, 2021
Abstract In this paper, a numerical study is carried out to investigate the melting process of a nano-enhanced phase change material (NePCM) in a latent heat thermal energy storage unit (LHTESU) with insertion of Cu nanoparticles. The use of such a strategy provides passive cooling of a protruding electronic component attached to a substrate.

Thermal performance of nanofluid with employing of NEPCM in a PVT-LFR system

Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments, 2021
Abstract A photovoltaic thermal- linear Fresnel reflector (PVT-LFR) modified with integration of phase change material (PCM) was investigated numerically in current paper. The impact of the different mass flow rates and influence of adding Al2O3 nanoparticles to the coolant and PCM on the performance of collector is evaluated.

Numerical Modelling of Thermal Cooling in PV Panels with NEPCM

2021
Solar panels are widely used renewable power generation sources. However, their light to energy conversion efficiency is low. This efficiency further decreases by 0.02% per degree Celsius temperature rise of a solar cell. This paper presents a method of cooling the photovoltaic panel through the complete back surface by a phase change material (PCM ...

Numerical solution of NEPCM melting inside spherical enclosure

2015 3rd International Conference on Control, Engineering & Information Technology (CEIT), 2015
This paper presents a numerical study of heat transfer during melting of phase change material (PCM) encapsulated in spherical container of thermal energy storage, with dispersion of solid nanoparticles within phase change material. The finite volume method has been used to resolve the energy equation in both solid and liquid phases in transient regime.

Unsteady heat transfer of NEPCM during freezing in a channel

The European Physical Journal Plus, 2021
Transient problem of freezing phenomena within a system including two wavy PCM layers has been analyzed in this research. Existence of three air cold flow duct among the PCM layers makes it possible to observe solidification of paraffin. The selected PCM is RT30 and Al2O3 nano-powders were added to remove the limitation of paraffin.
