Concentrations of free light chains determined by nephelometry and turbidimetry

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, 2012
Determination of FLCs in the blood serum has been useful to diagnose patients with monoclonal gammapathies. Besides, the test has been widely used to assess response to treatment and detect progressive conditions. In the course of gammapathy monoclonal light chains constitute homogenic population of chains made of kappa and lambda light immunoglobulins

A contribution to the nephelometry and turbidimetry of coarse dispersions

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 1987
It was found that the flow of light Φr scattered by a dispersion at the angle of 900, integrated along the optical path of the incoming beam, exhibits an extremum in dependence on the dispersion concentration; its concentration coordinate is a linear function on the dimension of the dispersed particles.

Measuring of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Concentration by Nephelometry or Turbidimetry

2023
Most clinical laboratories quantify alpha-1 antitrypsin using either nephelometry or turbidimetry techniques because they are commercially available, amenable to automation, and precise. Both methods are based on light scatter. The foundation of both techniques is based on incubation of the specimen with anti-AAT polyclonal antibody solution, a polymer

Nephelometry and turbidimetry to assess concentration and dispersion of coal dust in mines

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2018
The article considers the model of the optical instrument to measure coal dust concentration in mines based on the turbidimetric and nephelometric methods. The calculated data on the intensity of transmitted and scattered waves depending on coal dust concentration and on the size of coal dust particles are presented.
