Abstract Renal arterial infusion of tempol (RAT) at the onset of Gram‐negative sepsis can prevent sepsis‐induced medullary tissue hypoxia and acute kidney injury (AKI). However, it is not known whether treatment with tempol at a clinically relevant time point of sepsis is similarly effective. Thus, we examined whether tempol can reverse renal medullary

ABSTRACT Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a global health problem with significant long‐term harm if the prognosis is poor. Dual‐specificity phosphatase 2 (DUSP2) is involved in key regulatory pathways in several disease processes, but its function in renal pathophysiology is unclear.

Dietary interventions in acute kidney injury: From molecular mechanism to clinical trials
Abstract Ageing impairs renal resilience with an elevated risk of frequent and harmful acute kidney injury (AKI) that causes substantial morbidity and mortality among hospitalized patients. Since different damaging stimuli at the molecular, cellular and functional level contribute to this loss in kidney function, AKI's pathophysiology is heterogeneous ...

A comparative study of open, laparoscopic and robotic partial nephrectomy in obese patients
Objectives: Partial nephrectomy is a standard intervention for the treatment of small renal tumors. Our study compares the outcomes of three different partial nephrectomy methods (open, laparoscopic and robotic assisted) in obese (≥30 Kg/m 2 ) patients ...

23Na‐MRI at 3 T was applied to estimate TSC in patients with kidney tumours of different pathologies, which are indistinguishable on conventional imaging methods. The apparent TSC was significantly higher in renal oncocytomas (benign) compared to chromophobe renal cell carcinomas (malignant): 162 ± 58 mM vs. 71 ± 2 mM (p < 0.05).

Laparoscopic nephrectomy is a new procedure in which the entire kidney is removed introducing it in an Endopouch and, after morcellation pulled out through a 12 mm port. After an initial experimental experience, in our Institute we have performed one laparoscopic nephrectomy for left pyelonephritic kidney and ureteral reflux. The operation required the

ABSTRACT Background The management of clinically apparent single lesions or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis, a facultative precursor of nephroblastoma, remains debated. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 37 patients with clinically apparent single or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis (two to three lesions per kidney) among 2347 patients registered between

Robotic Partial Nephrectomy: Different Surgical Approaches for Different Locations
ABSTRACT Background The adoption of robotic partial nephrectomy has grown significantly over the past decade, prompting a debate on the merits of transperitoneal versus retroperitoneal surgical access. This study evaluated the association between surgical route (transperitoneal, TRPN; retroperitoneal, RRPN) and pentafecta achievement using a detailed ...

ABSTRACT Cervical metastases from breast carcinoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of uterine lesions in patients with prior breast cancer. Re‐biopsy is essential to detect receptor discordance (ER/PR up to 29%) and guide therapy. GCDFP‐15, mammaglobin, and GATA3 confirm mammary origin.
